The worklogs section of this site is for carpc related work, not general car work. While general car work is acceptable to be included in a worklog, it is not supposed to be the main point of the log and usually should only be a minor inclusion.
You do realise that this is a CarPC forum.

RevFE - Super fast, modular frontend. Most powerful skinning engine in existence. Strong enough for an i7 made for a fitpc.Originally Posted by mitchjs
Just a shame I can't justify a carpc to use it on anymore.
Sorry guys I was asked by a moderator to post this, if you read the first post you will understand what its doing here.
Yes I know this is a carpc forum, again if you read the first post you would know I was not going to post this because i have not installed a carpc.
Im sure im not hurting anyone guys, when I start work on a carpc install ill be sure to update this thread ok.
besides this thread will most likely end up on page 5 or something before I do my pc install, so you wont be bothered with it hehe.
Hey malcom do you seriously class all the fabrication work I have posted up is general car work do you. I dont know if you just flicked through it or what, its not like ive posted up pics of before and after shots of getting lowered suspension.
Rather I have posted a detailed description of how I replaced my 1996 engine with a 2001 engine witch needed modification work to make it happen. Also converted this car to a manual at the same time, witch also required modification work to make happen. I mean the gearbox did not even bolt up to the engine until i modified it.
There is also wiring jobs I have posted up along with a *few general car work jobs* But clearly 80% of what I posted in this thread is in fact NOT general car work.
Please read it before you ask me why it is here.
Cheers
Josh
Guys,
I asked him to post it. He does have plans to install a car pc, but it is also good to see some other work in the car too. I am sure that you will appreciate that mal. I can see the work that has gone into this so far. I especially like the backlit door handles and considering this car never came in manual, I think it's a pretty good effort. BTW Josh, what is the motor that is in it now? Is it a Tickford motor?
I will move it to the worklogs section. I am sure it was just a mistake that it is in SOYP forum.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story
Cool, it must go alright then. I look forward to seeing more of you car.

Yeah the New engine has made quite a bit of difference to the car. Mechanically there is still a lot to do with it. Including installing a AU ecu so i have the right tune for the new engine and install LPG injection witch comes with a programmable ecu. Witch opens up possibility to boost on LPG and get it tuned on a dyno.
EDIT: In Australia we call fuel, petrol while other country's may call it gas or gasoline. And we call LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas) what it is, gas.
As for my plans for a carpc, Ill show you a pic of part of what I want to do.
Nes cases are brilliant for building micro-itx systems. Not sure where I plan to mount it yet, either under the drivers seat or in the boot.
Double dinn touch screen in dash and plan to have no head deck at all, so will need to sort out an amp and radio tuner for the pc.
Have been looking at online computer stores for computer components but have not made a decision yet, as it will be a combination of performance and affordability. Ill need to make a decision on software and make a note of the minimum requirements to run everything.
I will let you guys know as my project starts and progresses, I am on a budget as a lot of we are so this build will be done in stages. Also have other mods on the go for the Fairlane witch need to be finalized before I commit to any new projects.
Interesting work. That level of conversion is a lot to pull off.
<Sniff>And for just a fleeting moment, I thought this thread was about my first car - a 1967 Ford Fairlane.
