So thinking about the support, I bought a couple of RAM mounts for my tablet. I would need a cradle, a VESA plate, and some minimal control over angle and directions.
This is what I bought:
RAM Mount VESA 75 100 Compatible Monitor Plate with 1.5 inch Ball (Model: RAM-246U)
1 RAM Mount Motion Computing LE1600 and LE1700 Tablet PC Cradle
1 RAM Mount Rectangular 1 x 2 inch Plate with 1.5 inch Ball (Model: RAM-202U-12)
1 RAM Mount Long Length Dual 1.5 inch Socket Arm (Model: RAM-201U-D)
Later I also bought this:
1 Ram Mount Slick-n-lock Vesa Plate with Lock.
So you could remove the monitor/tablet from view would having to unscrew the vesa mounting plates from the back of it. This would be great to facilitate storing the monitor/tablet from view inside the console when needed. It's relatively cheap at $16.00, so I gave it a shot.
I'm trying to avoid something like this (Ford F150 interior I believe):
It might be cheaper, but it looks terrible. I don't want my truck to look like that, and most of those mounts interfere with the passenger space too. I hope I can avoid that 3 legged monster, some of the upper components can be useful, will see what happens.
Two of those legs should go into the passenger seat...but what about the passenger legs??
Most reviews at GPScity complain about single arm mounting solutions, that they vibrate too much, so I'm not looking into them either. There are a couple of 3 legged solutions there, the above is just one of them, and the smallest one at that, but as far as RAM mounts go, they're the most stable.
