Right now I am contemplating whether or not I should do one of three things...

    1. Go back to Windows 7 because CF handled dual sound cards just fine there.
    2. Force myself to not use the Bluetooth built-in to CF.
    3. Use my (older) Mac Mini in the van.

    What do you all think?
I have bad luck with vehicles...

Go back to Win 7. I was going back and fourth on what to use, but Win 7 and hybrid sleep won me over. Just image you go to your car, turn the key and your $h!+ is just on right away. Its to much to pass up. With Win 7 you will know that if your PC uses to much power, it will put the PC into hibernation and then you will at least get to use it where it left off. Although my setup was geared around XP, I am willing to start from scratch to get everything to work, thats how important hybrid sleep is.

Whats going on with your BT?

I hate Apple so I am going to say no to that one. All your going to end up doing is having to use OSX, but then booting Windows inside of OSX to get all the features that a Windows setup can do. Your basically adding a middle man to the install which is dumb IMO.

Only I could never get the OPUS to send the ACPI signal to the board to trigger Hybrid Sleep...

Nothing, I just have problems with CF not working with dual sound cards, one of which is my AEC Andrea card.

Ya, but my Mac Mini is so old, it can't do Parallels. So I would have to use AMP or some other Mac front end.

Contact OPUS solutions, they will maybe know what you have to do to get it to work with Hybrid Sleep. They have awesome customer service, shoot them an email today and you'll have your answer tomorrow afternoon or sooner. http://opussolutions.com/?p=support

Is your setup like mine? Where you have a dedicated card for phone? Mine is setup with a souncard, which then goes to the echo cancel which then goes to an amp to a personal speaker. Basically I didnt want phone with my main audio because I was worried it would mess up my sound. i then have the X-Fi for main audio, then I have the small USB card for headphone audio for the back. The andrea mic is weird in XP, I threw mine in my large drawer of junk. i used the boom mic with my echo cancel card instead. The software the Andrea uses seems bloated and caused lots of issues on my system. I can imagine its happening to you also.

OH WOW, dont bother with that then. The point of the Tech Van is supposed to be technologically advanced, not backwards with stuff that cant do much. Youve come a long way with your PC, dont give up on it yet, and consider replacing it with something less advanced. What you could do, if you really want to use the Mac, use it for the rear seats instead. You can add a KVMP switch and when they want to use the PC, they use the rear controls of CF, but if for some god awful reason they want to use the mac, a simple keyboard action (usually scroll lock twice then a number) will switch them over to the mac.

The cameras ZX1Cruizer listed are cameras with IR lights. CCD will work better since it can handle low lighting better. I dont know how well 420 TVL CCD cameras work with this little of an IR. Has anyone expirenced a "white wash out" when the camera is close to a object?

The Cameras I listed are CCD with IR. They handle low light flawlessly but have the convience of IR if the light drops too low, like highway driving. Some Highways have no lighting at all. All my cameras are CCD So there is no white flash out. The cameras automatically adjust and turn any light hitting the camera head on into a slight glow around the head lights.

    Broken gauge, broken windshield...

    Broken Gauge
I finally figured out what the deal with my fuel gauge is... It's broken, which doesn't really surprise me since that was the most commonly replaced component to this line of Chevy's vehicles for that time period. It's easily solved too. This is the only part I'll need (besides wire, of course.) In addition, I have my Haynes book to tell me what wires from the instrument cluster to tap into. This is gonna be easy. *knocks on wood*

    Broken windshield
Right now all of my money is going to my "I need a new windshield" fund. There is a crack in the windshield from the driver's side top corner going down through to the middle of the windshield. I have to pay for the full price because I only have liability, plus it was there when I bought it...

Have you checked to see if they can simply repair it? I think there is some kind of liquid they can put in the crack that magically makes the crack go away. Check the windsheild places. I know insurance will usually cover it anf its free of charge to the customer.

I don't know of any places in a 50 mile radius that have that. There's a place in Roswell (the alien place) that does that with the rock chips, but that's before it goes to a full blown crack like mine is.
