    Mitsubishi Evolution X

What's up fellas I joined about a month ago and I haven't wasted anytime piecing together a system for my '08 Evo X. Here's the list so far of what I've accumulated. Your suggestions would be highly appreciated.

    1) Mo-co-so barebone system with Zotac Ion board Atom 330 with Nvidia Ion, m2-atx power supply
    2) 4 Gb Dual channel Ram
    3) Western Digital 7200 rpm 320Gb Hard drive
    4) 4 Gb Flash drive for Readyboost
    5) Garmin Mobile PC with 20x gps reciever
    6) Running Centrafuse 3.1 Front end
    7) 7" EBY-701 LED backlit with 3m with 3m capacative touchscreen retrofit with ByByte double din kit
    8) JDM doube din dash piece
    9) Tactrix cable for interfacing the carputer to the ECU, and running EvoScan for logging
    9) Lc-1 wideband O2 sensor hooked up to carputer

So what you guys think? I'm still on the fence on which amp and speaker combo to go with. I could really use some help on deciding because I am a computer guy, not a car audio guy. All I can tell you guys is I listen to a lot of Techno, and House music. I hope that helps.

here's a pic of my baby

I don't have any advice on the audio, but are you sure you need this: 4 Gb Flash drive for Readyboost? You already have 4GB of system RAM.

^^I probably don't but it only cost me like $14 for the flash drive so I said what the heck. I don't have any installed pics just yet because I'm still piecing together the audio components. I was hoping some car audio guys could chime in and help a brother out.

Soundman seems to be the resident genius on these boards. You might want to post in the Audio subcategory to get more specific advice on audio.

i really hate giving audio brand recommendations-- there are so many different brands, and each brand usually has its own 'sound' to it-- what sounds amazing to me can be dreadful to someone else(for instance-- i don't like infinity, or rockford fosgate, but some members here have stated that those brands make the best audio stuff they have ever used...and no one is wrong..)

my best recommendation would be to go to a car audio shop, or multiple shops and take a burned cd with some of your favorite tracks, and just demo a bunch of speakers--try to find a set that is in your price range, and sounds good to you, and then look at amps that meet the speakers requirements.

it is best to use the RMS wattage on the speakers and amps for comparison on power ratings.

the 'Peak' wattage varies by manufacturer, product, day of the week, and local weather patterns...

oh, and i would never recommend buying just whatever the sales person tells you is 'the best' he has in stock. if they really are the best let him prove it, and if they sound the best, then go with it..

i know this probably isn't what your looking for, but car audio has literally thousands of different products all of which can be drastically different from each other...

i would get a solid state drive and avoid the ion. I would go for full fat something like an Mobile athlon x4 or something.
The epitome of Function over form and is probably the best Car PC in Europe.

^Thanks for the input but I have already purchased the computer. It runs centrafuse perfectly along with GMPC without a hitch. I was thinking of SSD but the cost was a bit more than I would have liked to spend. I will most definitely switch once prices go down. I went with the atom 330 because of the low power draw and cooling requirements. I plan on mounting everything in the trunk so heat and ventilation was a concern.

Thanks Soundman for the good advice I know it can be difficult to tell people what to buy. i will take your advice to heart but I am also on a budget. i was looking for components for the front in the $$250 price range and a decent set of 3 ways for the rear. Not really sure if i want a sub yet, and last but not least a 4 ch amp in the $400 price range.

Why would you avoid the ION?
