I ran into the same issue with my bu353. I was going resort to soldering in the newer chipset but the older driver is easier to do.

Be sure to tell Windows to revert to the older driver.
I had issues where widows kept re installing the newer driver by default after I got the receiver to work.
Defaulting windows to the older driver should keep windows from doing that.

Being that it is summer, I am spending more time working on the exterior of my truck so I haven't made much changes or upgrades to the CarPC.
However I did get in one new toy yesterday.

I decided it was time to increase my internet speed to LTE speeds plus have the capability to have multiple devices connect simultaneously so I went the route of getting me the AT&T Mifi Liberate.
First impressions..... this thing is great.
I have connected it and been getting LTE all over the place.
Cant say the same for my iPhone 5 on Sprint though.
This device also has a built in GPS and drivers supplied to allow you to use the GPS receiver over wifi.
I have not yet gotten around to installing it but I am definitely putting it on my to do list so that I can try out the location awareness features of Windows 8.

    In other news

As I stated in my earlier posts I have been focusing more on the outside than the computer in my vehicle.
This forum is not dedicated to that stuff so I'll just share a few teaser pics.

Do you guys remember my theme in Centrafuse?
If not here is a snapshot to jog your memory

I decided to expand on the transformers theme as it only seemed right with the level of tech in the truck

Great job on the unique exterior. Chrome bar in grille, door handles and mirrors next for the black treatment??

Definitely thinking of doing the door handles black.
As for the mirror, It was the color of the body with black accents before my chrome phase took over years ago so I think I'll go back to that.
The chrome bar in the grill however I have not made up my mind about.
It will kinda detract from the black Chevy bowtie making it hard to be seen. and it will blend into the grill which I already painted black and the lights.
Previous experiments where I tried to use the black transformer logo that you currently see on the C pillar in the black body cladding and the rims or the original Black "Avalanche" text on the black cladding caused it to blend in so much that it was virtually unseen from more than a few feet away.

I will give it a try with Plasti-dip in the near future to see how I like the look and if I hate it, Well I can just pull it off.

    P.
Google Image "Chevy Gold Bowtie". Theres a ton of choices there that would look great over black. Maybe you can find an emblem that matches the size on your grill bar or paint... The bowtie will not blend then when it's the only shiny on the front of the truck!
