Car PC install in my 02 Avalanche

Wiring

A lot of thought went into how I am doing things in this build. I like my work to look professional. I don't like loose wires lying around and components sticking out of places where they look unpresentable. You can only imagine how much I wish I could put that screen in my dash but until funds are available I can't.

That being said I meticulously planned the wiring for my build. I decided where I wanted components and made cables the exact length I need. I also set up my system so parts can be disconnected without having to rip everything apart. My center console houses the power button and LED light as well as one of my usb hubs. I have everything set up where I can disconnect those without having to cut wires or pull everything out if for some reason I want to add something else or change something. I also cut all the usb cables to the required length in the car so as not to have a bundle of wires under my carpet or in other parts of my car.

Why oh why did I just find out a few days ago that Lilliput has a 12.1 inch Widescreen monitor?
I waited so long looking everywhere before purchasing my current monitor. 16:9 aspect ratio is what I really want. My current monitor is 4:3. Aside from the fact that the lilliput is 16:9, It will also be an easier fit in my dash.
Considering the fact that I have not yet molded the current monitor into the dash I am solely tempted to get the lilliput but money is an issue. Also I am wondering how bright it will be as well as the glare factor. My first Lilliput which I purchased ages ago (for a previous build) had serious glare issue - but then that was the 1st gen model. This was like 5 years ago.

Wiring made easy. It may look easy and streamlined now but believe me it took a lot of work to get it looking like this

This will be to help with power issues for the Alpine Amp I'll be adding soon.

The Avalanche is not a vehicle for hypermiling but this sure helps save some gas on those weeks I am broke.

I have since changed the theme to the one that is up in the pics of the monitor.

Where did you get the switches for your strobes? I have a setup similar to yours, and those switches would be perfect!

Wow time flies. Cannot believe I have not been here for over 4 months.
to answer your question (that i if you have not found the answer already) I am using the Garmin Mobile PC plugin for Centrafuse. I works wonderfully for me and I have no complaints.

I bought those switches from Autozone. I hope you have one in your area.
I was just in there the other day and noticed that they now sell them as 3 switches in 1 unit which makes it a bit more compact.
I may be getting rid of mine though because I have decided that I want to put my DVD drives in that location and I cannot think of anywhere to put those switches but back in the overhead console. That will however bring back those super bright LEDs which can be distracting.
