almost done. rerouted some cables. if you look at picture 6 of post #25, that cross bar at the front of the console is now gone and been replaced by the power distribution box.

almost finished with the work. have to build a custom surround to enclose the stereo area in the dash for a better aesthetic look. i plan to use a piece of metal cut to fit and painted to match the dash. sleaving the speaker wires with shirnk tubing for better control. running all the wires up the center on the hump. i will be ordering a truck mat to cover the floor in the rear including the wires. i planned to have the full install done by September 27 and by the looks of it it will be. there will be a custom seperator built out of 1/4 inch clear lexan and placed in the armrest storage to keep the usb hub seperated form whatever might be tossed in there.

OS: TinyXP (Without IE/OE/WMP and driverpacks. I am replacing IE with FF, OE with LiveMail, and WMP with VLC)
FE: DriveLine, Shotgun!, or RideRunner (testing all 3 to see what i like best)

    1) monitor in the dash
    2) monitor and siren command box
    3) usb hub in the armrest storage

after looking at the How-To for custom fabrication of a "factory bezel", i've decided that i will work on that next. so for now, i'm calling the install 95% finished. once the new bezel is done, i'll change it to 100%.

well, install is finally 95% finished for now. not the prettiest look for the cable run, but that'll change this weekend.
next task: install all software including frontend.

i've attached the final pics in no particular order.

siren will be removed in 2-3 weeks when the new one arrives. turns out this isn't an actual siren that i was sold. not Code3's fault. one of their sellers has been selling fake products. Code3 is sending me a replacement from their stock at no cost to me. awesome company.

the blue usb hub is located on the driver's side of the rear seat for backseat passengers to be able to add music and videos to the pc.

RIP to the 1997 Blazer. Blown motor. Total cost to repair: $3700. While that's being worked towards, I'll be considering replacing the VoomPC with an ARTiGO built into a custom housing. Any and all updates will be posted here. Until I'm at 100%, this thread will not be closed or moved. Any and all tips, recommendations, questions, etc will be greatly welcomed.

floored it to avoid a head-on with a gravel train. hit gravel and rpm's went to 8200 and speedometer stuck at 30. let off the gas and died. snapped 4 rods. getting a performance crate installed with new belts, hoses, radiator, fluids, etc for $3512 and ready to go in less than a week.

OUCH..... seems us Car PC people are unlucky. The front end of mine got smashed, but no engine damage except radiator and AC condensor. I am hopefully getting it back this Friday. I had it all customized since they had to start the front end from scratch. Thought it would be nice to have the truck the way I want. Just didnt know it would take a month to do.

Blew the motor in my 2000 blazer last year, transplanted a motor for the same year/model .. but a crate motor sounds like THE way to go ... and in less than a week!? that's awesome. took me over a year to get mine going again

glad you missed the train though

Having the Blazer towed in either tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. Motor arrives tomorrow night.

For those that are curious, I'm having a Jasper Performance crate engine installed. All new under the hood except for wiring, ac condensor, and alternator.

Thank god for friends on the fire department that also happen to be licensed mechanics. Total cost: $3512
