Got the sides grinded down so it bits into the trunk better. Got the SSD in and loaded win7 Ultimate. Found out there there is a such thing as road runner. Looking around for a manual and how to customize it. Also looking into an adaptation of the ODBII software for the bike. So, still trying to figure that out. Waiting on cables, Touch screen, camera, GPS, and DVR.
Finished modding the trunk. Also had to modify the case it aint pretty but it works and you wont be able to see it. M1-ATX PSU was DOA so i had to return it

I'd suggest that 8.4" Shark Monitor/Touchscreen is best avoided. I have the same screen and view-ability sucks big time even in a brightly lit room. The build quality and touch screen is pathetic too.
I ordered the screen 3 days ago. That sucks... Well if it is as bad as you say, I'll just send it back and get a better one. What would you/y'all recommend? Keep in mind that this is on a bike and a budget build

Got the dvr and gps in yesterday. Installed the GMPC software and got it integrated with RR. The dvr software is next. Gotta learn more about RR first.
Got the Touchscreen in today, not impressed. the 1500mA ac adapter apparently doesnt have the juice to run the screen without dimming out. I also have to change the resolution i guess because when i use the touch screen, my finger is about 2 inches from where the touchscreen shows. anywho here are some screenshots on a normal monitor

The adapter though it is marked 1.5A rated, could be able to provide not even 1 amp. IIRC, the monitor takes less than 1 amp. I guess this should not concern you since the power adapter wouldn't be used in the final configuration.Quote:

If you have an option to return the monitor, I'd suggest you to do it and get a proper transflective display (yes, they are expensive but totally worth it, especially in application like yours.). You can also look for TMR screens but they are not as good as transflective monitors.
BTW, how are you planning to protect the monitor from the elements (Rain, Snow, Humidity, ...)?
You need to do the touch screen calibration. You must have received a CD with screen calibration utility along with the monitor. Higher the calibration points, the better.Quote:

I regret not having spent more money on a transflective first and adapt the rest. All the hard work needs to be viewable. Im a motorcycle or a convertible, that is a must.
