Thread: PC install with DVR + GPS + Internet... In a motorcycle

First thing I had to do is make more room for the case. @ hayabusa.org, a guy came up with a storage mod to allow more room in the "trunk". I followed his steps and modified it slightly to fit my computer in place.








I had to cut off the mounting tabs and flip the case upside down in order for it to fit.


I have received most of the parts but am still waiting on the SDD, GPS, camera, DVR card, and monitor. I also ordered some bulkhead cables.



I intend on cutting a small hole and running all the cables (led leads, VGA cables, 2 USB, 2 power wires) to the front of the bike right under the handlebars. I will modify that panel to include a container that will hide the connections when not in use and allow easy access to them. If the monitor isnt mounted (an issue all its own) You should not be able to see anything but the small cameras in odd places.

Just today I saw a Harley Ultra Glide (with those fairing) showing what it looked like a flip up 6.5" screen. Very cool. Sound was blasting and I think Nav was showing on the screen. Hard to tell at 75mph. But the point is, a carputer on that ride is kind of "easy".

On a sportbike however, you have to use the underseat storage space, I'd guess. There's a guy around here who did it on a BMW K1200. Some bikes have a lot of storage under the seat, I think the Honda CB 550 and the XX1100 have a great space there.

The storage on a hayabusa is minimal at best. thats why i had to modify the storage compartment.
