Thread: 2003 Durango SLT / Project HiJackZX1 (Finally Focused Remix)

Well I drove the car, its barely drivable. The cooling system is gone, the steering system is gone, there is a funny metal on metal sound coming from the engine. I am just so upset. It seems that when I try to move forward, something happens that sends me way back.

Here is the video, what do you guys think?

I hate to say it, but it looks like they're gonna call that failure to yield... That sucks, dude. I know you've got lots of hours in that thing.

Now, in your defense, (according to your angle) it looks like he didn't even try to stop. I don't see a knee-jerk reaction, I don't see a swerve, nothing. I have to say, though, that the guy who went before nearly got it instead of you... Look at about 32 seconds and you see him tap his brakes and gun it.

i got stuck in a similar situation like that once--my eclipse got t-boned after i crossed 2 lanes, and stopped in a center turn lane (suicide lane), by a driver(turned out to be a friend of the family..) that came around a big truck, looking to enter a turn lane about a 1/4 mi down the road--when i talked to the insurance company, they said that people crossing traffic have more responsibility then the other lanes, so i was told i was at fault..

it looks like a very similar situation. i don't think your camera footage is going to help you at all..

That has to suck. You were probably starting to get excited about your carpc and then bam. The camera footage looks pretty nice though :/

edit: I didn't see that the guy in front of him tapped his brakes and gunned it until you mentioned it.

My mom seems to think it's the guy in the white car's fault because she says he swerved a little bit to miss the guy who went ahead of you and he didn't even try to stop when he saw you coming. on top of that, he was farther away from the light when it went yellow, meaning he should have gone ahead and stopped...

I'm pretty sure its hijackz fault. He was at a yield already to began with because he was turning and is only suppose to turn when no cars are coming. The other guy is going straight, so as long as the light isn't red he can go and not worry about anything, but it is odd that he didn't put on his brakes (not that he had to,but I would have).

Yea, it is my fault, at this point I am not even going to dispute it. I'll just suck it, go to traffic school. Leason learned, never try to make left turns with a car infornt of you. That very same SUV is what kept me from seeing the Honda.

As far as the Car PC is concerned, I had decided to research a used car with a friend. Here is what I needed from the car.

1) Had to be big enough for my dogs.
2) Had to sit 7 passengers comfortably (The Dodge did hold 7 people, but the last row was cramped)
3) Had to be easy to install the Car PC without heavy mods.
4) Had to be customizable engine wise and exterior wise.
5) Had to be easy to maintain.

I decided to not go with a SUV, but instead go with a Van. A Van has more open area and will hide most of my stuff. The Van me and my friend have choosen that would work is a 2000 Chevy Astro. Yes its 11 years old, but it works and I can just flat out buy it and not have to worry about monthly payments. There is so much that can be done to these vans. Also because all seats are highback, including the second row, I can put a screen in each seat and not have to worry about finding a place for the screens. My 19 inch will fit nicely.



Now all I have to do is wait for them to appraise the HiJack, then I will go buy this one. Now only thing is, what should I call this new car? i will not call it the HiJack because that name seems to be cursed.

What should the name of this new project be?

Yesterday my eldest dog passed away. He had been very sick and was refusing to eat. I tried getting him nutrition by force feeding him GNC Calorie Booster, which is like Nutracal, but he just decided to give up. It looks like he died of a heart attack.





I hope he had a very safe journey back to the Life Stream.
