I know.... its what Ive been preaching for them to do for a long time, lol. I just hope its released soon. I have a gut feeling that it isn't going to be released till next year. By then my install will be finished and unusable until it does. I really hate that my setup is so dependent on a company that seems to be slowly dying as far as development for CAR PC software. They seem to be transitioning to OEM hardware stuff.

Thats what I was thinking.... A single DIN... only difference is that you would make kind of a small over hang. Then on the front of the HU, the part that comes, you would make a cover for the HU to hide behind. So when it is powered up, that cover goes up with the screen. I am not sure if you get what I am trying to say. The design is in my head, but hard to get out of it.

The only issue with the Pillars is that it has to me done a certain way as far as the side that is close to the glass. i want it to be flush, and not hitting the glass though. i think the only way you can do it to get the right angle is to see it in the car. Both sides are different (which I hate) but I had to do it that way because one hides the main AC tube for the rear AC system.

See how it angles weird. When its off the car though you don't see this. Maybe its just me though.


Here is the other side. You can clearly see they are different. Basically the drivers side had to have longer rods in order to be matched with the passenger side.

Don't hate what you did, I think it looks good. If you ever doubt yourself, simply say, look at that @$$ Hijack, he has to send his cr@p to other people to do for him, thats how bad he is at fabricating. Like I say, if its wood, I can make pretty cool stuff.... If its anything else, I suck. Wait till you guys see the redesign for the back area though. Its going to be all MDF, but hold all the components now. i am going to design it to displace hug amount of air for cooling.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I do sound negative but let me rephrase that, I hate the process of what I had to do to cover my console with fiberglass, not the console. And believe me, if I had the money I'd probably send the stuff out! You'd be a good project manager! Got lots of good ideas and make other people do them haha.

I thought about trashing my center console at one point and making this huge fiberglass consturction in the extended cab area. Ditch the seats and house the 12s, 15s, amps, power distrubution blocks, and sound processors and PC, but then I though... I better just finish this console or I'll really ruin this truck hahahahah. Plus I just spent a lot of time cutting the bed and running wires and making custom length xlr to rca patch cables. I'm so bad about not finishing my projects I told myself i'd stick this one out. It's been two months under construction but i haven't strayed yet haha.

Maybe once I'm done with this console and bored with it next year I might do some crazy stuff.

Yea, i would make a good project manager, except I tend to be very bossy, and sound very stuck up, lol. Thats probably what scared Nexson away because I was so picky.

i thought about trashing my rear console too, but then I realized its actually very well done and looks better then what was there before. So now I am going to take it back to the guy to cover the holes. On the inside I am going to put all the wireless devices, like BT, TPMS, ethernet port, SCard Reader, and DVD Rom. So I will have lots of space in there now that the PC is gone.

You have Project A.D.D too? I really suffer from it, lol. Only reason now I am focusing is because I want to finish so bad.

This is the final restart. I promise. Ive ordered so many parts now, I cant turn back. Maybe in the next 2 weeks, I am going to buy the rear battery. I cant design the rear without it. Unless I build me a box that pretends to be the battery. That might be the better way. I havent got the alternator yet so I dont want to have the battery lay around, then when I go to use it, its dead and cant be recharged, or am I wrong about that?

the battery i curently have in my car lay around in my grand mother basement for a couple years and it work fine now.

Hey HiJackZX1, very interesting project. What video cards are you going to use?

Well first I have to find a battery that will work..... Im not sure which one to use. It has to be able to do S3 Sleep for about 2 to 3 days.

What about using ATI's new cards with Eyefinity?

It might keep the cost down and make things simpler.
