that will be one crazy multimedia machine on wheels
someone i know also build all the interior parts from scratch
once someone trown a molotov cocktail in that car because of a fight and he got rid of all the plastics and started building his own dash with MDF
later on he used fiberglass to make something.

looked pretty good but it took so much time and even all the doorpanels/ airvents etc he made.
after 3 years he crashed the car was done with it, will call him toi ask if he still has some pics of it.

    maybe gives some inspiration

Mine has already been totaled twice. Just about the whole front end has been rebuilt. Can you ask him how he started? Because i was thinking of using a very thin sheet of MDF as the base, then attach the screens, then use foam to shape where the fiberglass is going to go. I havent sen it done that way before, so I want to know what your friend did.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well its 2012! That makes it 4 years that I have been working on this system. It has been a huge headache with me constantly changing things and unable to focus. Then I decided to go on a epic journey to create a dual pc monstrous infotainment system. One being a Intel E8200 dual core pc, and the other being a AMD Phenom II x6 1055T. One is for a shared experience and the other is for independent environment for each user. One is running Windows 7 32bit w/ Centrafuse 3.6, the other is running Windows Multipoint Server 64bit, which is an OS made to run multiple environments (VM).

I want to thank everyone that has ever helped me! Its been very frustrating, and there may have been some bashing along the way on my part. All of it was done to better something in some way. I most def took all your advice and value it. Now most of you are wondering, why is he making this speech? Well, because I am nearing the end of hardware journey. Over the holidays I decided to treat myself to just about everything I had left. The rest of my speakers finally came in (they are installed). I ordered my 3 final touchscreens from short-circuit.com they were very nice, they had run out, allowed me to pre-order them and like a day after pre-ordering they emailed me that they had been shipped. Finally was amps, this had been a huge issue but I finally settled on two Sound Storm Laboratories EDGE Series DG4400 400 watt amps. I felt it was more then enough for the door speakers. All that leaves is a battery, a shallow mount sub and a amp for the sub, which I will work on at the end of January. In the meantime the PC can work without those 3 items.

So everyone watch out, the HiJackZX1 is coming!

PS: Any recommendations on a battery, shallow mount sub and amp?

I plan on getting the Optima yellow top. I have read positive reviews for these but they do have three different kinds depending on your needs. I think you may be interested in the yellow top. http://www.optimabatteries.com/optim...wtop/index.php

Happy New Year and my best wishes for 2012.
If you need small amp you need to looking for amplifiers in Class D. I prefer Alpine . They are small and stackable.
I don't wanna be a product of my environment.
I want my environment to be product of me.

I was also thinking of looking into Kinetic Batteries. They seem to be made for stuff like this.

Well the AMP only has to put out about 200 RMS. I am not going for a monster boom boom setup. I am going for a theater surround sound setup.

On another note, I saw Tron Legacy and found out you can buy, what they call, Light Tape. I emailed the manufatuerer today to see how much it would be to buy it in sheets and do the inside of the rims. You know I was actually going to retire my rims, but if I can get Light Tape on them, then I am going to redo them. Here is a picture of them.

Basically I want to do the whole inner part of the rim, which is easy since the way the rim is designed. Then I want to drill small holes in the area were you see black on the silver and run red on there also. Now I was already starting to save up money my new rims, so I will just move those funds towards that. I think this will be an awesome idea and awesome look. Maybe even start a new trend in rims! Unless someone is already selling them like that :-(

Basically its Electroluminescent tape. Here is the thread we are talking about it in. http://www.mp3car.com/general-hardwa...on-legacy.html. Its a cool thread. They have given me lots of ideas, including a way to get power to the wheels.
