I'm not wondering. Low profile is the way to go..that's what I'm getting but mine will be 10's.

Well after looking at all the reviews, I went with a Boss Audio BASS900 Low Profile Amplified Subwoofer - 8" Slim Woofer, 900 Watts Total, Subsonic Filter, Low Pass Filter, Bass Boost, Black. I felt if I went with anything else it would be to much bass. A lot of the reviews say that this made the lows sound very nice and made enough bass in the cabin.
I know some of you may be wondering why I went with a low profile, but it all came down to space. The Car PC is just taking up so much space and even though the amps I have are small, I wanted something that was small and all in one unit. This low profile amp will be bolted to the rear hatch I am building. Then under that will go 3 more amps. Two medium amps and one small amp. Then under there will go electrical, then a battery. That literally takes up the rest of the space. So a normal sub and amp would not have fit. A shallow mount sub and amp would not fit. I just came across these low profile amps by accident.

Yea, I was looking at the 10 inch version, but it seemed like way more power then I need. You think there will be that much of a difference?

It depends on the style music you listen to. If you're into fast electronic music then those 8's should be fine. The style music and bass response is the factor.

Hi, hope you don't mind me adding this bit of info. With a base speaker size is one of the 1st parameters to start from when designing a system. As frequency decreases, the amount of air needed to be moved by the speaker cone to reproduce that note increases. In simplified terms, a larger speaker can move more air with less cone excursion. It couples the analogue signal from the amplifier into the listening environment more efficiently and with less distortion. Among other things, less cone excursion = less chance of cone breakup causing standing waves across the cone surface, IE Harmonic distortion.
I can force an 8” speaker to reproduce very low frequencies with low distortion by monitoring the cone movement of the speaker and using that signal in the feedback circuit of the amplifier to electronically correct distortion and output in real time; however acoustic output is limited by physical parameters of speaker construction at that size. I do this with my 10” sub – the words “Tight Bass” take on a whole new meaning![]()

Thanx Mickz for making me feel better for upgrading!
I decided to fix an issue I tried to ignore. When I built my rear center console I made it to long and the 3rd row seat could not go down. My solution was to take the third row seat out all the time. Well with back issues, this got old fast. I decided to take a jig saw to the console and make the room for the seat to work as it should. All I have to do now is have the upholstery guy redo that area. I dont think he needs to to the whole thing again.

OK, everything is installed. Only thing that troubled me is that the low profile amp only allows you to connect 8 gauge wire to it. That makes me wonder if it will put out what it states. Other then that its all in. Here is a picture.
Now i know it isnt pretty at all, but it isnt supposed to be. This area will be covered with a hatch, seperating it from the main cabin. If anyone wants to see, well to bad, use your imagination. You guys though get to see it, lol.
Now I am just bouncing around on what I should do. Install the batt cap I bought, or only go with a second battery, or maybe even a combo of both?

That looks a fair old monster.
What's it like when you bounce down the road, or are they all silky smooth over there?
Thats actually why the system is MIV (Monstrous Infotainment Vehicle). No, the roads are a nightmare down here. Everything is installed very very tight. Its actually bolted to the cars body. The AMP side has 3 bolts, plus to more bolts on that panel, then connected together. It aint moving. Its the same with the Car PC side. Three huge bolts hold it down to the cars body.
