Depends on the setup. If it shows up as a fixed disk you can use NTFS and/or if you modify one of the built in windows drivers/infs.

Only 512mb ram, are you mad?! Running long periods of time and with EWF you're going to run out of memory unless you use something else for swap space. CentraFuse, in my experience, has some sort of slow memory leak that increased my ram usage over time that my original 384mb CapPC ram setup idea failed.

How do you have CF card hooked up? I won't be arsed to look thru previous posts.

Is the RAM upgradeable? IE: more than 512? Do the boxes have IDE or SATA connectors? I think I see an IDE connector in the one pic.

If you have IDE connectors, you can get CF -> IDE adapters, then you could go more than 4GB for a disk. And I believe you could then do NTFS as well.

And I do not know enough help you with the install issue.

Or you could just get a bunch of small SSDs and hook them to the IDE. SSDs these days have a pretty decent long life. I am using one in the car.

Not sure how important boot time is in your new configuration.

Well... yes. I want everyone to think I'm an a-hole.

EDIT: Forgot my question. HiJack, how is your CF hooked to the PC?

Well here is what I decided to do after running into headaches with the CF card idea. The CF Card or readers in these units are iffy as h3ll. They keep giving me errors. So i decided to trash them. I have five sata drives laying around. I plan to reuse those. Because these boards do not have sata, I am going to buy bi-directional IDE to Sata adapters. The adapters cant be plugged into the mobo, because then the clearance is messed up then. To fix that issue, i bought IDE extensions. Those will allow me to put the IDE to sata any place in the case.

Instead of fighting to have EWF on the computers, I am going to install Deep Freeze on all of them. That will ensure passengers do not mess things up.

Trust me Tidder, I can make myself avaliable to more then just one person.

I think these units may be upgradable to 1GB of RAM. I am going to try out my new idea though. I really do not think I will need more than 512mb. I am maybe even thinking of running Centrafuse 2.0 on these units, since they really dont need advanced features.

Im going to go with regular 2.5 HDD. Thanks for the link though. Honestly in my whole time using Car PC units, I have never had a 2.5 HDD break. So I'm sticking with what i know works.

LOL.... I use to be an A-hole on here but i got tired of all the warnings. Now on the Centrafuse Forums, h3ll no, I will bash and be the biggest A-hole.

Now in real life though, I am a legit A-hole. Even my parents will certify that fact for me.

    Ha!

Dude, why don't you try installing to a normal hdd and then clone to the CF? Maybe it's not a hardware or windows issue, maybe it's just an installer issue.

Because, i'm just not feeling CF Cards. A regular 2.5 HDD will do it for me. I even tried installing Linux, Ubuntu, etc... all had issues. Maybe it is user error, but with a HDD I know the user is on point.
