The iPad controls have bit the dust... I didn't think about how much power the XMPCR and NSLU2 needed. Not to mention my routers DCHP cache not flushing properly... I need to reflash the router back to the Linksys firmware because OpenWRT isn't playing nice on it. The NSLU2 works, but the router isn't letting it get the IP I have it hard-coded to use... Murphy strikes again. BUT I WILL TRIUMPH!!!

I'm putting the PC back. The mini-server couldn't stand the NM heat... It fried.

Well I still have the Version 2 Car PC sitting in my room. I just remembered I was supposed to send it to you. Only thing wrong is that it will not hold the time and date. I put a new CMOS battery (actually several new ones) and it still will not hold the time. It a AMD Turion x2 64bit 1.9 ghz. It has 2GB of RAM. The board also didnt like what I was doing with so many USB devices so it would always cause somethings not to work. I was going to give this Mobo to my BF for his car, but now that I am retiring Version 3 PC, he wants that one.

God I hope version 4 works out! Also hope you can get the Version 2 PC working, if you decided you want it.

Sure. I'll take it if you don't want it. Do you any DC PSUs lying around I could buy off you? My OPUS is completely shot...

I have a OPUS 320 laying around. I wanted to use it for his system, but I know he wants a very compact system and the OPUS 320 is nowhere near compact. I cant use it on the new install because both the DZ and MZ setup require the OPUS 360. Just P/M what you want to pay for it.

Sorry to hear about the mini dying. I'm starting to plan for the heat as well, it sure does throw in an extra level of difficulty.

I guess this is the benefit of me having my install in an SUV. The PC is in the cabin with me. Even though, you should always use lots of ventilation. The heatsinks on my install are massive. Also the case will also use 120mm fans to draw air in and out.

So, I switched cell phone carriers yesterday. I now have AT&T. And an iPhone 3Gs (jailbroken, of course...

) with the 200MB/mo data plan. Mom and I share 700 anytime minutes, unlimited night and weekend minutes, and unlimited mobile to mobile minutes, and we both have unlimited messaging (text, picture, and video). Only problem is that I still get texts on my old phone...

I can do the XM streaming thing nowa, but I won't because if I go over my 200MB I get charged an extra $15 for another 200MB. I wanted the 2GB plan like I have on my iPad, but we couldn't really afford it. As it is, Mom and I dropped $200 on our iPhones and OtterBoxes. And that doesn't even cover our activation fees and plan! The plan will be around $145/mo but we get 300 more minutes than we used to, and we both have unlimited text and multimedia messaging, as apposed to just me having unlimited texting before. So it works out. It's AT&T or Plateau Wireless and Plateau just covers most of New Mexico and a small chunk of Texas. AT&T is national (albeit spotty, but national nonetheless). As soon as I get back from DC (I leave May 3 and come back May 9), I will start re-planning my PC install and updating my setup. (Going back to XP with XPe mods and updating CF to 3.6 (or maybe switching back to RR?) ).

Yep. I think I'm going back to RR. I need a new GPS app though. iGuidance is way outdated for me...
