Has there been any progress? Over the past few days I've been reading your first two installs with the Tercel and the van. I brought up the worklog for the tercel and saw 86 pages and just thought "Holy crap. I'ma gonna be readin a while" One week later I finished. very interesting. Hopefully your luck goes a bit better this time around than the first two. Nice install in the Tercel by the way. The dash bezel came out really good.

I haven't been able to do much. I actually pulled the computer out a while back because I had too many gremlins in the electrical and audio. I'll start it back up around the first of August if I have the resources.

I actually had a friend of mine who I a pro fabricator do the bezel for the Tercel so it would be clean looking. Everything done in the van was my (first attempts at) fabrication with fiberglass jelly.

I'm actually looking at doing the dual battery thing here in this vehicle, too. It worked really well in the Tercel (minus the whole "me using old batteries that kept dying" thing).

I'm focusing on mechanical issues right now. And there are plenty to fix. I'm almost done. I just need to address an issue with it burning oil (small amounts, but still...) After that, I'll start this back up. Probably with a whole new (and more powerful system... )

I think I've done all I can without doing a complete engine swap with a new crate motor. One of my friends and I took my toolbox off and stripped the paint and primed it on the 4th, now I just need to find the time to get back over there and repaint it. We're using the spray can bed liner to repaint it with. His neighbor uses it to coat the floors, frames, and bumpers of his Jeeps that he rebuilds. It looks nice, so hopefully mine turns out like it should.

On the PC side of things, all I need to find now is a new power supply because the Opus 120 I had isn't working right anymore...

Got the toolbox finished. I'll try to post some pictures later. The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve is going out on my truck and I'm back down to 8 MPG until I get it fixed. (I was up to 18 MPG!!!) I'm having to use the money I had set back to redo the TruckPC for gas because I have to drive 100 miles a day (round trip) for my classes.

In addition, I've had several personal issues come up. My aunt's cancer came back after almost 10 years and she's not doing well. I also found out that I have two half siblings I've never heard about until now...

I hate making these sound like excuses, but I also don't want people to worry or think that I just stopped or that I just disappeared. I'll keep this updated as I can. And, please, if you're the praying type, I need it. I would really appreciate it.

My Intel Atom is my main PC now. My old AMD HP PC died on me. I'm thinking of reviving it, since all it needs is a new HDD. I have the replacement RAM it needs. I'm ordering the new EGR valve and solenoid today as soon as I get home. I'll probably end up clearing my whole weekend to get it replaced, but such is the nature of the beast (my vehicle, I mean)...

HiJackZX1, I saw that case. How's it coming along? I also saw that you were going to the virtualization technique. I hope you get everything that you want out of it. It'll be a lot cheaper than using separate units like one of your previous builds.

You know, I still have that Turion X2 laying around. The reason I havent sent it to you is because of that bad experience I had sending that other stuff to you. Its still here though. Only thing you need to buy is anotehr RAM stick, unless 2GB is enough for you. The system is very fast but it had a strange CMOS issue which would reset the system clock causing the PC to act strange. I didnt bother with it because I wanted a more powerful system for dual zone (The Intel C2D with 6mb Cache).

Is that EGR an add on piece? Ive never heard of that. Is you truck a v6, or v8?

The case was an easy thing. I just combined two cases to one. All I have to do is redo the bottom wood piece that goes in the truck so I can fit all the otehr components in a nice neat package. Im trying to figure out where the battery is going which is slowing down everything since I dont know the battery size I need!

The virtualization is a curse and a blessing. The blessing is that yes, I now have 6 units in one. The curse is getting USB to work stable every single time. I am hoping VBox addresses the issue and makes it easier to assign USB devices that are the same. They say I can assign by USB port, but they do not list the format it should be in, which sucks!
