Haha, why do you think I took such an interest in this? AFAIK he's the only other New Mexican doing the CarPC thing! There used to be a dude in Albuquerque but he kind of fell off the face of the Earth after a bad MP3car deal with Darque.
Oh, Darque never got the money for stuff he sold, or got the goods after sending money, I forget which it was.
Gosh, there seems to have been a lot of drama back in the days. Now MP3Car is so boring, even with me starting wars.

O-freaking-k. I just had a bright/stupid idea (depending on your point of view) if you don't enjoy reading, skip to the .
I have two 14" laptop screens lying around. One is 16:9 and the other is 4:3. Both have VGA boards and inverters. (They are leftovers from the multi-zone idea for the now-defunct G20 van.) On eBay I've seen 14" 4:3 touch panel kits for around $80 or so. I could take my current CarPC MoBo and incorporate it into a custom box (fiberglass, maybe? Or MDF?) and have it as a "one piece" system. I could hinge one side for access if the need arises. That way I could put the other 14" in the back and have the 7" Lilliput for rear control…
I've said all that to say this:
It's not gonna happen any time soon. But my dad and I need to do some maintinence on the truck (brakes, spark plugs, etc.) so I was hoping maybe he'd look at the engine while we are taking stuff apart and (hopefully) we could figure out what the deal is. (head gasket, valve seals, (dare I say?) cracked heads) That will be the determining factor as to whether or not we trade it off when I graduate or try to get it fixed…

If just enough is really good, then too much ought to be perfect.
