Yeah Im pretty sure its too big. But hey, a guy can dream can't he? I was thinking of using it as a temp sitting in my passenger seat till I ordered my 10".
Anyway Phil, how is your console coming? That is next on my list once I get these A-pillars finished. I have a 98 Expedition console I plan to cut up and stuff w/ my woofer box holding two 8" PPIs.

Well, I'm at that point where I probably need several days to pull the console, make the mods it needs, do the body work and paint and reinstall. I had the chance in early Sept. but didn't do it. I'm going to try again here in late Oct.

2 of those PPI's will need close to 1.5 cubic ft of air. That's a fairly large box (about the size of the one in my worklog). You'll have your hands full trying to integrate that size box into a factory EX console. Put on the thinkin' cap, where theres a will, theres a way. Maybe only use one of them, or put all the PC stuff in the console and the subs elsewhere? Space management will be key.

I had a 95 2500 ECLB 2x4 with a 454 in it. I loved that truck. I had a 92 prior to that with a 350CID. Great truck but a little shy on power for towing however it was impossible to break!

BTW, I'm looking forward to seeing the *** end of your truck painted. Love the work you've done there!

Well after some filler and sanding, then more filler and sanding, then a little less filler and sanding, and finally some spot filling and sanding. You get these.
This weekend I will paint these and SAND them. Did I mention sanding?
Fiberglass may have done the compound curves better, but I am more comfortable working with the foam and filler. Its all about what your confident with.

lol, on my tail lights, that was the point where i got sick of it and started using a dremel with a 60 grit sanding drum on it. i have to say the results are not as nice as if i had taken the time to hand-sand the whole thing...

well worth it in the end, but getting to the end takes forever!!

Ok guys/gals, I have to admit these pods came out terrible.
Maybe I have not improved any these past 20 years. I can install things; just not good at making them look pretty.
Personally though, Id rather blame it on the paint.
    1. The color is not an exact match, and it took forever to find what I got.
    2. Everytime I sprayed it, it ran. It was very watery no matter how long I shook the can.
    3. When i went to sand out the runs, it caked up my sandpaper. I was quite certain the paint was dry too. I don't remember having this problem when I painted my dash bezel.

Finally, you guessed it, I gave up and made plans to wrap them in vinyl and suede. Wife has the good camera so no pics (honest). Will do a before and after on the wrap so you can see what Im talking about. Installed the speakers, but not happy that I will have to pull these pods after I mount them to have them wrapped. GM plastic is not the strongest.
So now it is on to the final fabrication job; the center console. Once that's done all that will be left is upholstery and installation.

i have run into the cheese-grater effect on a lot of projects, so i now try to let projects sit at least overnight, usually over a week to dry out enough.
