New Here 2007 TC PC
Hello.
I'm currently in the process on building my first Car PC so I thought it was probably a good time to join the MP3 Car forum. My project won't be anything fancy compared to ones I've seen here but, it'll work for me.
current progress
This link has my current progress on the build and for the future I will try to update both threads with the same information.
Thank you

This thang ain't dead yet!!
Made some modest progress today. I started on a case made from acrylic letter trays. I got the idea from Instrutables

I learned real quick you have to work with this stuff a certain way.

Luckily I bought two trays and the broken one can be used for the top. I got it right on the second try.

Can't really go any further till I get the power supply and I haven't really be able to find it for a price I'd like to pay. Also got to get the touchscreen.
Looking at two options:
Complete Mini Touch 700 Double DIN Touch Screen Kit
"Transflective" LCD panel with res touch+controler for $101+$36 S+H
I'm trying to be cost effective with the thing because I lost track of how much I've already spent but know I'm getting impatient.

Did some stuff today.
Finished the mock up for the case. Drew a line of the excess letter tray material to cut off.

I used a piece from the broken letter tray to cut a backside and used Lexel to attach it. Supposedly better than silicone.

And there you have it. All essential components mounted.

All it needs now is a top. I'll get back to that. Also the screen has been pushed back. They are revising the controller to deal with a native resolution issue. So the move of the install to actual audio is coming soon but you can't have audio without a source.

Awesome. Can't wait to see the finished product.

So yesterday I fired the pc back up on the bench to finish intalling some software. The Lexel seemed to have cured pretty good. I don't think it's as awesome as the guy the at the hardware store made it out to be but, it works. I put RideRunner, VAC, AudioMulch, drivers etc on it. I'm going to work on the bluetooth today. I need to figure out how to use the skin editor in RideRunner but, I'm still looking for FAQ's on that. I want to see if I can get rid of the XM and Sirius buttons because I won't be using either. Just to clean it up to my liking. It's really not that big a deal if I can't Other than that, it works pretty much how I expected it to work.
I may start cutting out mdf rings for the speakers. I want make a sealed enclosure for the mids and I have some of hobby lobby spheres for the highs. Thing should be getting interesting soon.

ok. i'm trying to get the bluetooth thing working in riderunner. point blank, I don't know what the hell I'm doing. I got everything else under control except for this. I'm going to go through all the FAQs and readme files I can but it's giving me the business. I have bluesoliel and mobilephone.net installed without any errors but as far as getting it working in riderunner, no clue. I need a beer.

Nice. I love seen the custom enclosures being built. By the way. Does any body know how to subscribe to a thread without commenting on it? I can't seem to figure it out. Thanks.
