Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7inch tablet in 2006 G35 double din
Well I finally did it! I bought my double din dash piece about a year ago planning on putting a tablet in the dash but then found myself worrying more about which tablet to get and what will fit the best. Then one day I got tired of looking at this double din dash piece on my desk and went out and bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 inch wifi tablet for 250 at walmart and just made it work lol...I did a tad bit of research on it and saw a lot of other people on here were using the same one so I figured it shouldn't be too hard.

JDM double din dash piece with A/C controls
Samung Galaxy Tab 2 7inch (added 32gb SD card)
USB car charger
Female cigarette lighter connector
1/8" x 3/4" Aluminum
Appliance rubber/foam feet (grippers)
Various nuts a bolts around the garage
Double din dash piece after I dremmeld the hell out of it to make the tablet come as flush as possible to the edge.
Little hole I drilled planning on using a little button which would slide over the power button but that didn't work out so well...so I just keep a little pin in my car for now to hit the button but honestly I don't even need to hit the power button since I have the tablet setup to turn on and off with the car. I'll keep looking for a suitable button for this to fill the hole.
Had to trim A LOT of the trim piece around the dash mainly for the headphone and charger connectors....this is the downside in trying to make the tablet as flush as possible.
Some brackets I made with some 1/8" x 3/4" aluminum and bent/drilled holes as needed...could use some smaller bolts but this is just what I had lying around the house at the time.
Bought these "grippers" at lowes which are made out of some type of foam material but they didn't grip as well as I thought so I put a couple strips of double sided tape on the back of the tablet to make sure nothing would move around....Please excuse my poor craftsmanship :)

View of how I had to hack up the charging cable and headphone cable in order for the trim piece to just barely fit lol I ran the usb cable to the glove box where I also added the female cigarette lighter connector this way I can plus the tablet into my computer if I ever need to without taking my whole dash apart.
