I'm subscribed to them and I love this installation. This would be a GREAT solution for me, minus the bluetooth audio part.
Thought I'd share this link I saw on youtube this weekend. Another great way in which magnets were used for a very clean install.

THANK YOU!!! Glad to see I'm not the only one that can't figure out Tasker!! Nothing has made me feel stupid as Tasker.
Charging problem is most likely the output of the charger. The one that comes with it puts out 2A. The charger for my phone is like .5A. My head unit has a USB port that puts out 1A and it doesn't work either.
I'm working on the same type of project for my SLK230. I have a head unit that has bluetooth but I pair that with my phone so I can have hands free and stream Pandora (head unit actually controls Pandora). It also has a AUX port on the front, that I plug my N7 into. When I have a call it'll pause anything happening on the head unit. So if i'm using the N7 for nav or music through the AUX port, it's turn off during phone calls. I've been using NavFree which has offline maps, and Google Music for music but am limited by the storage (16Gig) of the N7. I've ordered the same OBDII BT which I'll pair to the N7 and use Torque.
What the ultimate solution would be is to have the OBII BT go to the N7, the N7 to the head unit for music/NAV/Pandora, my phone to the head unit for phone and the N7 tethered to the phone for internet. Which all would happen seamlessly as I started the car. That might just be a pipe dream....
Theres a head unit by Parrot, same company that makes BT stuff, that makes a Android based head unit.
I am using the AT&T branded iPhone charger with the n7 and it works quite well.

So I'm on my 2ND parrot asteroid HU and I'm very disappointed in it. They may be good at BT units but this first gen Android HU is full of bugs. BT video/audio is also out of sync.
The hu itself looks great and best over all IMO is the hu dimensions! Particularly a plus for us audiophiles with the nerve to fabricate our own Bezels.
Anyway, that truck I did this on is now gone. I have a new 2012 Dodge RAM I'm puttingthe 7.7" Verizon galaxy tab in. 16gb internal storage, 64gb micro sd supported and 4g LTE. I need data for google play and 64gb for when I'm traveling in my HEMI :-) .
You can find my old work on RAMFORUMS under same 1miracle2 username (haven't posted new thread yet of new project).
So I won't be using this HU again though. Haven't decided on that yet.
Nice work by the way. I was looking on YouTube (research) and found your video. You should do another video with better lighting, no glare and better camera cause your set up is ill but you can't tell with those factors. Nice work man!
Current Project:

I have also to say a great THANK YOU for the Volume control app. Not perfect, but the Best
The TuneLink Auto outputs 2.0A (or maybe 2.1A) and supports charging of my Nexus 7, iPad and my wife's iPhone without any issue. Other chargers I had tried in the past (including the built-in USB ports in her MINI Countryman) did not provide enough power and in addition to a stupid error message, the device would discharge faster than it would recharge, which meant dead battery on longer trips.
