The arduino has programming libraries that help, but you still need to code a little.

Are you using a capacitive or resistive touchscreen? I would be very interested to try this if it works with a capacitive screen.

I'm using a sunlight readable screen wich has a resistive touchscreen.
I guess interfacing a capacitive with an arduino should be possible but more difficult.

Hi! I was(am) on the list for a mimics, but honestly i'm a bit fed up and i'm feeling the ol' DIY itch at the moment. Can you provide some more detail on the Arduino setup? Specifically, how are you attaching the touch screen to it, and (if you're feeling super generous) some code snippets to get started. (I'm a software dev by trade, but this would be my first arduino project)

I don't mind sharing all the bits of the project.
The only problem is i have no time at all !
I will answer you with details later.

Yeah, no rush. I'm actually going to attempt a slightly different route using a raspberry pi and this library:

Here is one of the references i was looking at for the touch input:

Holy man. You are a god. lol. Well im just butter you up for a bit so I can pick your brain on how you did your "mimicsX2". Is there any chance that you could help me get my project up and running with your make shift "mimicsX2"? some code perhaps. . I cant code at all. I have no idea were to start. lol. So just the tinyest of help would be great.

Remember god. lol. Hope your project is still going. Truly amazing what people that know how to code can do now a days.

Well, this project is oficially dead. I have been trying a tablet install (Nexus 7) in my car and there is no way i return back to a pc install.
This tablet install is so superior to a pc install in every way that is almost ridiculous.
I know there is people interested in the "mimics" code so i will post it later.

Yeah tablet is very nice. I am sticking to a phone with the mimics module so that I only need one internet connection, all my content is the same on my phone as it will be in my "system". And anytime I upgrade my phone I upgrade my car unit. Also not sure if the tablet has gps? Just curious how you are getting audio out to the car speakers?

If you use mostly streaming stuff, then I guess the content will be the same eitherway.
