OK, I have been bashing my head on how to share the PC desktop with 6 tablets. Anyone have any ideas? Currently I am using Splashtop2, but it only works on one remote client at a time!

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is using some virtual machine software. I like VirtualBox because it's free Then everyone gets their own OS. One VM for each client. Each VM + Client using Splashtop.

If I have a better idea I'll share.

But if that's the case, they just don't log onto the sharing system and use the Android on its own. I want all of them to access the desktop at the same time. So say tablet 1, 2 and 3 are logged on to the sharing system, they all are sharing the same thing, seeing and hearing the same at the same time. If 4, 5, 6 decide to log on, they see the same exact thing also.

If they want to do their own thing, they simply log off and use the tablet on its own.

Ahhh, okay. That would be more difficult I should think. I am not currently aware of how to do that or if anyone makes something for that.

i believe vnc has a mode where you can all share a session, and i'm sure there are vnc viewer apps for android and ios

not sure how well it will handle streaming media for multiple clients

I seem to end in these "hard to do situations".

VNC is awesome at streaming. I have been trying to create a webpage that the tablets can log into and the stream is there. Problem is I also want them to be able to touch it like a touch screen, but cant seem to find a solution for that. One that builds into a webpage. Or maybe something that allows me to put controls next to the streaming picture? Like a mouse pad type thing? That could work!

HTML5 has some amazing options.. You could put a web server on your server and use it to provide pretty much anything you want to the tablets. You could then add whatever other servers to it that you want to stream what you want since you are not looking to make the tablets external screens to your PC...

Well they are not external screens, but at the same time they are, lol. Only when being used in sharing mode do they act as external screens. What web server do you recommend? I am a huge IIS fan, but lots more use Apache.

    ---------------------------------

On the design aspect, I have decided to scale down my install to 4 seats. It is very rare that I will have 6 passengers. So now instead of 6 tablets (1x 10inch and 5x 7 inch), there will be 4x 10inch. Now here is where it gets insane. I am removing the third row seats, (they are very uncomfortable) and moving the second row back. This will create a huge amount of space, kind of like a limo setup. Now that the center console has more room, I will add a mini fridge, and focus on a club like experience with LED lighting and all. Should be an interesting setup.

I would strongly suggest Apache as it is the most supported web server and is free..

I would suggest using a LAMP package that is ready to install. I have never had much luck trying to add other packages to IIS where as I can load something like WAMP, XAMPP or Universal Server and you have a full blown web server, ftp server, mail server with PHP and some other options out of the box and takes only a few seconds to install.

I use XAMPP for my web site development stuff.

what about teamviewer? i know they recently updated where the android clients can act as native touchscreens on the other end...not sure how the whole multiple clients thing would work, but it might be a rabbit hole worth going down.
