It's not using Bluetooth. It's using the Asus dock so its a hardware connection on the 3.5 jack.

You could use tasker or BT auto connect to connect to a Bluetooth reciever when it is plugged in (docked). If the tablet was plugged in away from the vehicle it simply wouldn't connect to it since it would be off or out of range.

I couldn't see a 3.5 pin in your install, was confused, but now I've watched a vid on that dock I get it now, it uses contact pins (never even noticed them before). Awesome. My build wasn't working out real well anyway, might scrap it and start with this dock. Thanks.

The primer is starting to peel a bit on this so I am going to sand it all back down and apply some adhesion promoter this time around. I was out so I used primer that I used in my Mustang CarPC build but it is not sticking for some reason. More updates after the weekend.

    Excellent install,subscribed.

What case did you use to hold it to the dash?

It was a clear lexan back plate. One of the cheap no name ones on eBay.

    I ordered this exact one

However it was a pain to fill in the gaps.

Also it has been too cold to repaint it. Hopefully I can tackle that this weekend.

really nice install, only thing that really takes away from it a bit to me is the very big notch for you to pull it out. without that it looks 100%. there's got to be a way to improve that at least a bit before paint, maybe reduce it at least? don't get me wrong, it's really nice as is and if you're happy with it that's what really matters but I think improving that would take this from just being really nice, to being really awesome...

I plan on filling that in a bit once it warms up here. The notch should be about half the height it is now once I'm finished.
