I'll be using ICarDS for frontend so mine IfWinActive command won't work for most of you. But if you are interested of the syntaxes and examples - here
I made a video, to keep the Thread alive :)
What you see is:
1. Intel boot-screen is black with just 2 symbols down right (i'd like them be there, but I could hide them too)
2. Windows boot-screen. It's moded with custom made animation of Volvo logo (fade in and then "pump"). "Loading Windows" is changed to "Loading Volvo Car PC"
3. Welcome screen is changed to Volvo logo, with no text "welcome" and no Windows branding.
4. Desktop is changed to Volvo logo. It's been tricky to make all these logos look static. Resolutions in all three screens are different, but i think i did it.
5. Even more - the loading screen of iCarDS (the front end I use) is with matched logo size, too.
6. Finally the main front end screen - again looking the same logo, same position and same size.
From pressing Power button to music I got 30-32 sec.

So, my screen is gona move up and down, right? OK, but I'll need a flexible connection for the USB connection for the touch panel and the LCD controller board with all of it's wires.
This means 12 wires for VGA, 2 for power (errr 12 in fact, but you'll see) 1 for reverse signal (2 in fact), 4 for the two AV inputs, 3 for the IR and 5 for touch screen's USB (they could be 4).
So I ended up with the decision to make some PCB's so that I could place some flat flexible cables.
Well, this is my first attempt to make a DIY PCB, so I wanted to be sure I've designed them well, although one of the PCB's is dual layered...
I printed the design on self adhesive print paper (mirrored) and placed it on a PVC sheet material. Drilled all the wholes and made a test fit of the PCB's with most of the components placed.

First of all i use a up down motor and plastic from a original rti like you but the screen i use inthis is a 6.2"

Yeap, you got a big screen from S60 and it's 6.2.
I got a screen from S80 I and it's small - 5.6inch 4:3 ratio. So I decided to extend it and I made it 6.4inch 16:9 ratio, keeping the height constant and extending the needed so that the LCD panel would fit.
How did you made the flexible connection? The existing FFC cables are with very thin pitch and you should use 7-8 for "+12v" and 7-8 for ground as the screen panel+controller consumes 0.8A normally + 20% reserve =1A. Adding VGA, touch and the other things and there is no enough pins.
I'm happy I'm not alone doing this mod. If you need any help, just ask.
I asked a PCB designer to create a controller for the up/down state of the monitor, but he went further and combined it with start up/shut down controller for the PC itself. It's designed especially for placing in the monitor's box.
By my request it will monitor the alarm state of the car taking the central alarm led diode signals.
When I unlock the car controller will send "PC on" signal, so that the PC will boot up. While I enter the car, place my seat belt and start the car the PC will be completely loaded the front end.
When i start the car (controller monitors the input voltage, and wait it become 13V +) the monitor will go UP.
When I shut the car, monitor will go down, PC will wait 10-20-30 minutes (by setting). Controller will send "Shut down" wait further 5 minutes and completely cut off the power source for PSU. No more drain battery.
But there will be a 3 (4) states switched by a button (in my case a empty one in climate control module - stock look, ha!) .
The state I described is state "auto". err it does more, but i'm in hurry. If needed i'll make a detail description.
State "allays on". No need to describe - monitor is up and powered and PC is on. No matter the alarm and engine state.
State "allays off". Again no need to describe. Everything is shut down.
And one more function. While in state "Auto" if I press the button for short period of time (just click) it gives me 10 minutes delay for every press.
What is the sense - You are with a friend. He asks you to pool aside to buy a ... cup of coffee and a sandwich, but you know it will take 10-15 minutes and you decide that is reasonable to shut down the engine. OK, but controller will lift down the LCD. So you press the controller's button once short and you got 10 minutes delay. Some of you may say - why don't you just switch to "Allays on"? Because you may forget to revert to "auto" and wake up in the morning with flat battery. "Oh, f***! Not again!"

It replaces using the same mounting method the ofiginal PCB in the montor:
Why i'm telling you this? As I know the PCB shop wants a minimum 5 pcs to start the PCB creation process. So there will be 2 or 3 ready PCB's to be made to controller. And even more, I'm pretty sure the PCB designer could make some changes so that the controller meets some other requairments... The only thing i don't know is how much would it cost, but if you're interested i could give you his coordinates.
my project is diferent.
The screen pop up an turned on when i turn on the radio, and down and off when i turn off the radio.
The pc start when i uput the key in II position or start the car. And of when i laeve the key.
The conections of the screen are very simples, i used only wires in all the process. but i like your idea with the pcb.
So, i want to know how you make a start the pc when unlock the car???? i think is a great idea.
