Well well ...
My ABS module went bad. So sad... There is no speedometer, no odometer, no fith gear (car thinks it's in calm and wont let me put in fifth), no cruise control, no ABS, no DSTC ... what else. Well that's enough :)
First of all, I've done this temporary while solving the problem!
Fifth gear was easy to solve - there is electromagnetic stopper which I removed.
But what about the speedometer and odometer?
Well i was forced to make a dock station for my Android based phone (CAT B15) and use it as speedo and odo :)
I found a plastic surround from junk yard and made a quick play. Enjoy:
The funny part is that the plastic stuff made by me looks better than the one from the junk yard, huh :)
Great job man. Really admire your sence for detail! :-)
Is there anyway you might be able to dig out the schematics for the controller you made?
I just bought a screen for my S60, and I will be only using the housing and the up/down motor.
I have no idea how to get the screen to come up and down though, so I'd love some help if you have the time and opportunity.
The simple one or the complicated one?
The author of the schematics is Tihomir Petrov. Any thanks and/or beers should be for him :)
This is what he has made: Volvo Club Bulgaria - GPS into the stock screen
Hey, I'm back :)
What is there on the front PCB:
2. USB for the touch panel
4. Reverse +12
5. 2 AV inputs
6. Plug for the irda
Again a cool and hard job !
Well done, very smooth operation!
OK, something new here - a TV. Why not :)
I've put my hands on a Averbmedia A316 unit and that's what happened:
Some PC Case job:
Two fans. One in and one out. They are both the same and plugged into the mobo's controlling rpm's header.
The one that blows air inside is situated in a way, so that part of the incoming air goes through the RAM and then right through the CPU's sink.
Lucky for me it's cooling the TV tinner, too. I confess - I didn't think this thing is going to heat so much, but it's been cooled now :)
The chip of the integrated video is known as a world class cooker - eggs and meat are just a part of it's menu :)
Here is what I did about that:
I placed a sink and a fan above it:
Oh, and something ... errrrr hopefully useless - a voltmeter just before the power plug of the mobo.
Mine mobo is made to work fine in between 8-19v, but I really don't want to force it work in the car without regulating the power fist, so this voltmeter will tell me if there is a problem.
That's it for now.
p.s. Sorry that there is no picture of the whole case assembled, but there is no way to photo it - you want see anything but some cables and the voltmeter.
p.s.2. There is 3 RP-SMA pigtails mounted on the back of the case - one for the DVB-T antenna and two for the WiFi (not bought yet). Pictures -next time.
Awesome work man...! i am totally impressed.
