i heard the dac on those raspberry pi boards leave a lot to be desired. Have you looked into a usb dac for it? also. you may want to look into the pcduino in case you want to get fancy. it has an integrated atmel chip and runs the arduino ide natively, is faster and all around upgrade to the pi.
oh wait... your "raspyfi" wasn't a typo! just looking into this now... interesting!
Gorgeous car !! Will definitely follow this build.
Very nice so far!
So says latinmaxima, so it shall be! now Free
any update on the raspyfi? :)
sorry for the looong delay...life and shoulder surgery has been getting in the way ... its been so long that raspify has turned into volumio, while leaps and bounds in progress has been made... it still has a few quirks, im having a problem with volume being at 100% with the web interface when i first connect to the unit, and getting a NAS to mount has not been consistent, but ... i have been living with a couple of volumio setups in different rooms with different DAC's connected trying to determine how i can live with it in a car... so far so good. also looking at various gui designs to come up with ideas to modify volumio for a interface in the car.
i also ordered a 8x8 DSP kit to play with and see what is possible... more on that later... but so far a test with the miniDSP USBStreamer with optical out to the 8x8 works great... so many possibilities with the 8x8 i think it just may save the world.
i have moved to a ruggeduino setup for gauge cluster and general car use instead of modifying / building an external circuit for a stock arduino... dont reinvent the wheel when you dont need to.
as soon as i have a few pics of progress... ill post them up... hope to test a beaglebone black with volumio soon.... this should eliminate problems i have had with DSD file playback...
