thanks for the interest in the projector everyone! i made a video to show how it works...

the projected area is only the size of a 40" TV, but i mainly wanted something completely integrated. everything is designed to be completely out of the way when the Jeep is loaded with camping stuff, but still nearly instant to deploy when you want to use it. otherwise you could of course get a large outdoor screen, and even a much brighter projector if you have an on-road only vehicle where breaking the bulb wouldn't be such a concern.

the jeep can now take me exploring all day...

while getting me to an awesome camp site...

and then treat me to a good comedy before bed...

Wow! Amazing! Very nice. So the projector projects the image to the back of the screen and then you watch from the front of the screen?? The image is super clear!

thanks! and yep, it's just like an old rear-projection-screen TV. i can probably sit about 8 to 10 people behind the jeep and all have a good view.

I've one remark regarding the cunbas conversion to buttons.
I noticed that you have in your java code a concept of time-limit/bounce to eliminate double/triple press on a certain button.
Still when i look at the response of the canbas , it seems that it has a concept of 'idle': "3D 11 00 00 EE" i.e. whenever a button is released it sends the idle token, moreover whenever no button is pressed it will send the idle token over and over again.

Why i'm digging into it? i wish to capture long press as well. This will allow achieving more control e.g. "skip track" vs "fast fwd with in the track"

to accomplish long press, one way would be tracking presses over time, a different and more robust way would be to send an event "button down" whenever a certain button token is received and send "button up" whenever the idle token is identified.
