It's been awhile since this was updated, what's the current status?

Also, is it necessary to have a sound processor? I've seen so many different tablet installs on YouTube. Some use sound processors, some use eq's, and some don't use either and just connect the tablet directly to an amp. So what's the deal, what exactly do you need and why?

    Thanks.

It seems like it's been ages since my last update. I've been a busy guy. Anywho... I have had pretty regular comments and questions on my youtube channel. I will be creating a few new posts here to relating to them. Additionally, I am still considering what route I want to take for how I want to connect my tablet to the speakers, powering on and blah blah. I did learn (I'm sure I am slow finding out about this) that there is an android app that handles the event for powering on your tablet when power is turned on. It's called Autosleeper. From what I saw it's marketed as connecting your tablet to your cig lighter port. That's not my preference but the logic perfect and I may considering leveraging that app or...use what I have been which is the tasker app for automation. It's basically the same outcome.

the app should work regardless of where you actually splice into power... doesn't matter if it's plugged into a cig lighter outlet or hard wired to a switched source.

but like you said, it does the same thing as tasker, it's just a simpler app. if you already have tasker profiles that work then you aren't gaining anything that i see by switching to that.

looking forward to seeing some updates on your project!

Finally Decided: Digital Signal Sound Processor

After 50yrs, <-- not really but it sure seems like it..., of researching my new setup design I finally decided on installing this component. It is new on the market by AudioControl. I called them earlier today and told them what my plans are this is the audio processor they suggested. In my last installation I had cheap mini amp (but it worked well). This time I am going to twist up a few notches and install this processor with eq that essentially will improve the audio from the tablet or other device (smartphone). It will also restore the loss of the bass and blah blah. There is also a dash control remote.

At high level the installation will essentially be this: Tablet -> DQDX -> speakers...

I will let you know how this turns out.
