Android Mount in 2013 Altima
If it isn't my project that evolves, it's my car. My old thread for upgrading my In-Dash Galaxy Tab in my 2009 Altima has now been shifted to my new 2013 Altima.
I will post updates and ideas soon for my exciting new car. Why mod my cool new car you ask? Well... because that's what we do!
p.s. - I thought I would just call this thread Android Mount in 2013 Altima because this really could be either my smartphone, which is the plan or tablet which was the old project.
Out with the Old..Cameras..
In my old project I had 3 external cameras installed on my 2009 Altima. One on the driver side, one on passenger side and one on the roof facing rear. Well those I let go with my car when I traded it in yesterday.. :( I am posting my youtube video below so you can see how it was in action. I am also posting pics of the old cameras.
Cameras and 3-way split Mirror Monitor in Action. So what makes this especially sad is I have yet to find this monitor anywhere and it seems to be only available out of China..and every site I came across that has it in their store show "Temporarily Unavailable"..whatever that means. So I am thinking about what I am going to do to develop a similar solution possibly and most likely not using the same monitor.
These are the pics of the old cameras.
I stumbled across these cameras that seem to be cool as the mount comes in white which is the color of my car. That would be great. I am trying to find out more information about them from the seller. I would like a better photo with scale so I have a better idea on their size. It's also marketed as CCD but I want to make sure it's not really CMOS.
Replacing the Factory Radio
While the new Altima has some nice new features...finally up with the times but if you're like me and I know you are because you are perusing this forum :) then you know that the factory radio will have to go. I like the factory implementation of bluetooth and other thingys but they still do not satisfy the TechieGadgetFreak in me. With that said I am posting my video from youtube that I posted a while ago explaining what I did to connect my tablet to my car speakers. I plan to do basically the same thing only this time I am hoping to use strictly bluetooth with the option of jack-2-rca as a backup if needed. I am hoping to acquire another of these mini amps I mentioned in my video. If I can't then I will have to come up with another solution. My goal is to try to keep it simple..not necessarily meaning that the initial mod will be very simple but after it's done and implemented any future additions or updates to the audio or Android device will be simple.
Here's my video.
