Glass work is pretty straight forward...mix to the directions..if its cold add a few more drops of catalyst....keep the fibers wet and use a roller where you can to squeese out the air...take your time and if unsure on the strength add more layers...just about anything can be glassed in...steel/ally...plastic..wood...foam...and just about anything can be used as a frame.i like alluminium as it never shrinks like wood..my dash/bezel shrunk just enough to create a gap...but only i can see it...once its done let it cure for a few days and start the bog work.smooth it over and give it a paint or just cover it..carbon fiber can be done just the same also..only problem is glasswork is really messy!!....

Agree. And this makes it a little easier - SMD SunFlash UV Activated Polyester Resin; no mixing, a lot less mess! Just set the piece out in the sun and it cures in a minute or two, perfect, every time.

This summer I am going to give the glass a try. I have another Metra kit for my Camaro dash, and I want to fit a 10" screen this time.

I just hope that the Sunflash resin will stick to ABS so I can get a good fit.

Just a quick update. I made a new cupholder, this time with dual USB 3 ports for faster transfers, added an Array Mic, Installed the HD Radio (waiting on an antenna amplifier), installed a Silabs USB radio, installed a mpcie BT4/AC WIFI card, moved the boot sector from the 256GB 2.5" SSD a 240GB mSATA SSD due to vibration concerns (the mSATA screws down to the motherboard), and optimized fast boot.

I made a video showing it's current features with voice control in Driveline:

Very nice Robert! The voice commands are worth the price of admission alone. Driveline certainly seems to be the next up and comer.

I laser cut a new cup holder glow plate from 1/4" acrylic with 1/32" modified black acrylic top, and aqua LED's. I also added 2 USB 3.0 ports and a drop in USB Volume Control that also holds a touchscreen stylus.

haha! It IS always sunny here. When it finally rains, we call in sick, open the window to enjoy fresh cool air, and enjoy the sound of rain. It's a very rare treat. I even seen Hail once!

So I am trying to get better reception on my HD Radio. After burning through a box full of shekels, I cannot find a radio antenna that works well. I finally found the rear window AM/FM antenna connector, and it just happens to be directly above where I mounted my radio, but am not sure about the polarity of the connections.

    Here is what I found:

    Here is the window:

    So what say you?
Do you think I can wire in directly from the antenna wires above to a Directed HD radio, and bypass 20 feet of antenna cable that are currently connect and not giving good reception?
Or do you think there needs to be some kind of specialized isolation between the common connection of antenna and defroster?
Or do you think I can try only connecting the side I marked + and not worry about the antenna shield?
