2003 Dodge Caravan
I have been keeping an eye on the www.mp3car.com site for years (probably since the site first started) and I have been dreaming and planning a carputer since then. Now 3 cars since then...I finally am getting there. Right now I don't have a lot to say but I finally wanted to get my work log up so I can start posting pictures and info. Let me start with this
The stock radio has been removed and replaced with a Kenwood 4x100 RMS amp
The rear Speakers have been replaced with 2 4-way 6x9 Rockford Speakers
The front speakers are still stock 6x9 but I want to replace them the component speakers and put the tweeters in the dash where 2 5 inch rounds are supposed to be but are not hooked up
I have a Visteon HD/FM/AM tuner hooked up but waiting the install of a set of EQ's to control the volume
I purchased a Clarion 7 band EQ but just got it and haven't put it in yet
I also have a Rockford Mono 1000 watt sub amp with 2 10 punch 3 subs
Right now I just have pictures of the van to share. Enjoy. More later

Here are so0me non-stereo related pictures. I had everything nice and organized...well I don't want to get into it. This just happened to be the first folder I got straightened out. Sorry for not being tech related but to me a build involves everything.

One of my project also s to replace the carpet which is stained some and just needs to be replaced. The previous owner took good care of the van but after I owned it for a while I just wanted to update the carpet and I have decided to make it modular so I can replace pieces if need be. I also have decided to use this rubber mat instead of carpet. It is durable and I can basically just wipe it clean. HEre you can see some of the pieces as I am putting them together. I wrapped the wood and put an edge on it to keep it down as well as assist in just protecting it. Next I will show you what I came up with for my wiring.
I hope thee all get posted because though they are all related together in the long run.
I am sorting through my wiring pictures I will post those today and the story behind the van

In my build I have to make everything functional. I am a father of twins ad we take long drives sometimes, plus when we do vacations we take enough stuff we look like we are invading the area more than vacationing. So as I design everything it ahs to be durable and removable. I have painted the sides of the cargo area with black truck bed liner. I am in the process of replacing the carpet with rubber matting. The subs are set up the same way. So its more of a "ruggedized" build.
More pictures and some stories coming tomorrow.
Here are some pictures of the new speaker covers I made form other cars speaker covers. I combined a set from a Caravan and a Grand Caravan to make these. I had to do it because the 4ways center hit on the ones that came with the van. So I had to make these so they wouldn't hit.Attachment 70878Attachment 70879Attachment 70880Attachment 70881Attachment 70882Attachment 70883Attachment 70884Attachment 70885
I wanted to replace the stock lock pulls. I found these skulls but the post for the pulls were too small for the door panels holes. SO I modified the stock pulls by cutting the tops off and gluing the posts for the skulls inside the stock pulls. Honest I am getting to the wires. Still a couple things to go. I want to share every aspect.
