2008 Lincoln MarkLT Android tablet install
 Figured i start a worklog to document how i chop-up my truck and also to have something for posterity; my first computer was installed in a 79 F100 vintage truck and I can hardly find any pictures of it. That truck was my Son's (high school) graduation present so I got me a 2005 F150 to replace it and installed a computer in it. Again, I took some pictures of the process but they are all over the place; had I done a worklog, they would be all here in one place.
I hope I can keep this in order and organized (but most likely i will be all over the place) because I may need some help figuring-out some things along the way.
Anyway, like I said, my last computer was in the F150 and was running beautifully for years; all was well until the morning of father's day 2011 (ironically) when I opened the door and saw this…
Darn thing caught on fire "spontaneously" – can you imagine the shock! It looked fine on the outside..
It burned overnight parked right outside the garage (where it sits in the picture above) and the same way it started was the same way it finished – BY ITSELF! The windows were rolled-up tight so when the fire consumed all the oxygen, the flames died; but not before melting darn near everything plastic and ruining the computer with soot.
Nobody could figure-out what started it..not even our fire department..
Talk about heart-broken! I had just gotten it sitting pretty and running smooth.
Something good came out of it however, I decided to upgrade a notch and got this to replace it..
She’s a 2008 Lincoln MarkLT fully loaded, in other words: The top off the line F-150! :D. She’s really the subject of this worklog and the process of installing an Android tablet in it. More to come..:thumb:
