So, here we go again with my 7th (give or take) car PC installation! The RSX is gone and the new vehicle is a Honda Pilot. despite the new car, most of the components will be the same. This worklog will show the progress of the build and go into a level of detail on what it takes to make all this stuff work together.
I'm going to attempt to keep this build log somewhat formatted, so the next several posts will serve as empty containers until a later time. Enjoy!
As of today, the ODROID, monitor and car audio is installed. I'm currently running off the primary battery, with the DC DC Converters both ignition triggered. Being that most of the components have been tried and tested before, and the fact that it was absolutely DREADFUL driving in a car with ONLY FM radio, I figured it was well time to get some live testing done with the system!
To compensate for having to see a boot screen every time I turn the car on (for the time being), I created a custom 720p landscape boot animation for Android. Its very simple and doesn't slow down the boot time. If anyone would like it, let me know.
Very nice I have a pilot and am looking into better options. This could really help. Looking forward to your updates.
