Morning, I was wondering if you have tried Digtial Car for Android on your nexus setup and if so, your honest opinion on it? I'm developing it for the nexus 7 so I would love your views and how easy it is to operate etc.
Hi Fellas, thanks for the comments.
Its a 2012 Nexus.
The u channel came from a diy shop although i would imagine its available from many websites.
I'll try keeping the drive powered and see if it works.
I have tried digital car and my honest opinion is its good and credit to you for your work. i recently had a go at making an app and after two days of work i had created an app that when you click a button it displayed hello on the screen, its a hard thing to do so i applaud you for your skill.
Back to your app though the reason i don't use it is it's not customisable enough for me something like centrafuse for android where the core program is there and you can create your own skin with some basic computer knowledge and then just load in.
There's a 4.4.4 rom available for the 2012 nexus 7 called autodroid specifically for car installs. You can get it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2789993 I've been using it in my setup for a while now and it works pretty good... and it has current support.
It looks ok but i don't see any good reason to loose all the work i have done with timur's rom. Is there any big advantages to this other than it's based on kitkat rather than jellybean.
The biggest reason I use it is the customizable navbar. You can add up to 10 buttons including volume and media controls and also a power button. Its very handy to have those buttons while in other apps without having to go back to the home screen. Also the shutdown options allow you to set a video to be played at shutdown. Also, there is current support instead of being abandoned like usbrom.
All valid points. I currently use go launcher in full screen mode so I don't have a nav bar but of it was customisable then I would consider having one rather than going full screen. Have you had any problems with using it such as any incompatibility issues with apps. System crashing or locking up.
The only issues I've had is if I install the noozeoxide dsp app it doesn't want to wake up after sitting for several hours and I can't seem to get the built in dsp app to work. Other than that I've had fewer problems than when I used usbrom.
