Dang Ol33l, I just got around to checking out this thread of yours... 6 mos and you still don't have a CarPC? ...and you still manage to make us all this cool software? You rock... but get your self a CarPC! Even a temp rig until you complete your real dream.

SoCal meet!?!?!? That sounds awesome. I am in West LA and would love to meet up with some other people that have a CarPC going (I'm the only one I know with one dispite having a ton of geeky friends and working at PhatNoise).

Yeh, 6 months. My uncle is a bit slow And its not painted well yet

i'm making the sfotware so I have something to show off when I get my carpc. Still don't know what I'm gonna do, a athlon64 or pentium mobile. Probably a a64 because of future upgradability.

Car meets are fun... esp. when you you get free food

Update on gas mileage: I got 20mpg on the highway
I was going to San Louis Obispo and recorded it with my trip meter. It was exactly at 200miles when I got there, and the gas needle was right at 90 with the ground. So for a full tank, I would have gone 400. Since I have a huge *** 20 galon as tank wedged in between the trunk and the rear seats, I calculate that I got 20mp/g
In other words, the car is in pristene mechanical condition

Also got some SEM gloss paint for the center.

Gas gauges don't always work in a linear fashion. Mine shows better mileage at the 1/2 way point than if I run it all the way down.

I measure my mileage by setting the odometer to zero each time I fill up and filling the tank until it cuts off. Over time, it works out fine.

Well, when you're going from San Louis Obispo back, you don't know if there's going to be traffic. So I had to refuel or run the risk of running out of gas
