finish it!
okay its next year?
Spring break....
Eager to see the finished project. I just finished install of mine into my 96 sc400. I think it came out nice, but it would be good to compare notes with another sc owner. The factory amps made it a lot easier for me.

Once I took out my cd changer and had a look at the wiring harness I knew I was not going to be using the stock components. The wiring is hair thin. Also, I didn't like the idea of audio cables running up and down in the SC... the more cables, the more weight in the car. So... I decided to ditch the stock system altogether and go with aftermarket amps. So I have the amps and the computer sitting in the trunk with just the audio cables going from the amps to the front speakers and the 12v battery wire running the length of the car.
Well, I ran mine from the Power Antenna +12v lead. Seems to be enough for a laptop. Has been holding fine. I do plan on running leads to the battery eventually, though, as I originally only planned on this being a temporary thing. I've put the computer plans on hold for now so that I can save up for a supercharger, headers, and etc. Most people who get in my car think its factory (they don't see the small imperfections I see), but I eventually want to redo the bezel I constructed for the lcd. I want it to be perfect.

Ah... being a perfectionist comes with the lexus brand.
I knew that the stock wiring would not hold my full sized ATX computer or the two amps. So I didn't even bother figuring out were the connections were. I totally removed and filled in the power folding antenna... no thanks... I don't need to drive an RC car![]()
::LOL:: RC Car, funny. I should have had my antenna removed. It could have been done when I had it repaired last spring. I actually had a dent in that quarter panel, so it had to be repaired and painted. I didn't think about removing the antenna until after the fact. I may have the color of the car changed, though. If I do, I'll have my antenna taken out as well.
