wow, the 10.4 inch screen should be awesome....good luck with the fiberglass, i cant wait to see it when its done.
Ya I am actually working on that right now, hopefully I can get somehting sorted out and I throw up the picsOriginally Posted by IntellaWorks
I am thinking of makeing it pivot up and down for that reason, but that might be overkill, I have not glued it yet so that angle was just a guess.Originally Posted by IntellaWorks
Ya that was my major delema, the few people I have had look at it think once it painted it will look ok, but I am unsure myself. That is the part I keep struggleing with tring to figgure out a better way to do it.Originally Posted by IntellaWorks

I just went out side and cut up a piece to show what I had in mind, the cut was ruff and Would box in the vents but this is just to show how high up the vent will now be

you can see in that pic just how much of an angle the vents will now be at
And this one will give an overall idea of what i might look like in the front.

I'd put some insulation around it though so when you run the heater your not heating your screen.

Alti, those are much better pictures. From here I can see the angle of the screen being fine. Also exactly what I was thinking for the vents. As far as the lips on the side, I'm not convinced that they will look ok once bondo'd and painted I still think they may not fit with the smooth lines of the car.. maybe you can cut a peice of wood, see example.. attached below.

that is what I was thinking to.... I was think of stretching the fleese from the tops to the inner part of the frame, the galssing it. Much the same way that you have the wood, do you think that the fiberglas/filler will work in that small a space? I also thought that with all the angles it would cause the fleese to wrinkle. I am going to try to draw it on your diagramOriginally Posted by IntellaWorks

I guess u cant point the vetns directly at the driver/passenger tho, see the angle? To me it seems they only point like 15 degrees up but u cant point them any further down. On a hot day when u want that AC on yer face, it may disappoint. Feel me?![]()

yea it will def. wrinkle. your best bet is to make it as flat as possible with wood / epoxy and then fill in the little gaps with bondo and bondo filler to make it all look like one surface.
Do you have a dremel ?? I used the XPR400 dremel that has a pencil sized hand attachment. its smaller then the dremel itself and can get into smaller areas, like the cornors of your project. I baught a bunch of 60-80 grit sanding heads for the dremel and went to town.
I'd say I spent more time on the cornors than anywhere else.
