    Skylar V2 (pic's of my carputer under construction in '88 VW Golf)

    Lightly modified VW Golf MK2 (1988)

    Battery:
    Red Top

    Mobo:
    Asus (?)

    HD:
    Maxtor 60GB

    Proccesor:
    Intel Pentium II 450MHz

    RAM:
    128MB SD

    CD-Rom:
    Philips 40x

    LCD:
    Seiko 40x4

    Input:
    Pioneer IR-remote
    Numpad

    OS:
    MS-Dos 7.1

    Player:
    MPX-Play+MPXT

    Audio:
    Clarion Amp -> 2x pioneer 2way rear
    LA-Sound Amp -> kenwood free air sub
    [nothing yet] -> pioneer 2way front


    Future plans:
    Carpet the install
    USB-stick support
    Software crossover

    Time:
    2,5 yr encounting
    Why so long?
    Becouse i started with windows, big mistake, 2 year's of work and still nothing.
    With MS-Dos it worked before i knew.

    In windows i had big troubles with the sound qualitiy.
    Also the boot time and the stabillity was bad.
    Windows is nice for collor screen install's.
    (Altough when I had a collor screen I wouldn't use it either

    En waar woon je eigenlijk?
    Ik ken helemaal geen nederlandse carputeraars eigenlijk.

    Jaja, beetje de hollander komen uithangen op het forum!

    Just kidding! Bare in mind not a lot of people will understand dutch posts...

    Nice install, really fits the car nicely, that LCD! A little carpet will make it look much nicer, so hurry up!

    I'll start the carpetting when i'm absolutely sure that I didn't miss something in the setup.
    When you buy a new car there is a piece of plastic on the radio shaft.
    You can click in on and off.
    I cutted the screen in it, so now i have a releasable front also
