Well, for now the case is only a plastic recycled case that once was a "please hold the line"-music box thingy... here's some pics:

I hope that in about 4-6 weeks I'll have the first prototype of the aluminium box.

hey setup looks real nice how long it take you to make the screen bezel.
I was wondering when You bring it in the house, if you do, do use a AC power supply or are you powering the opus threw those 5v 12v on back of the case
from a desktop AC ATX power supply? that make sense?

That's 2 times boobs, prefer spaghetti's boobs though

It took me quite some time for the bezel, as I sanded/painted in the evening 1 or 2 layers and then went to sleep, work, sand/paint .... etc... I think it took me 2 weeks or something.

Those 5v and 12v connections are outputs from the opus, to power the screen, amp-remote and usb-soundcard...
When I take the computer inside, i hook it up to a power supply that used to power my cb-equipment in the days... 13.8v @ 7A, which is a bit tight but it keeps running (very hot though)...

Who's got the biggest baps though?

JC, really nice job ont he dash in a really nice car...
    ...but...
...you need some thing else on the left oft he screen. The blank bit ont he right is big as it is but the bit on the let is huge. Some nice OEM volvo switches would finish it off so much and/or a slot load DVD on it's side.

24 euros for that dash piece from volvo - what a bargain!

Yeah, I know i still need to fill up that space... will purchase a slotload soon...

And it's true, volvo parts are cheap compared to the competition!

Perhaps some USB connectors or your status lights (on/hdd/lan)...

USB might be an option.... I don't like the idea of status-lights, as that reveals a computer, and I want it to look like a 'system', not a computer.
I hope to use a front-end that never needs to be exited, whatever I need to do in my car... we only need speedier front-ends and some handy accessories like HDD-usage, clock adjuster, (media-)filemanager...

Jc-S60 what are you using for volume control and such (im amsuming your using
    the touch screen).

You could maybe put a volume knob in that blank space, like a powermate or something and some buttons.

Not sure if you have seen the thread or not where someone hacked up a five button mouse for volume and then used the buttons and maped them with girder for more external controls.

That spot on the left of the screen is beging for a volume knob and some buttons. I think if done right it could look real OEM.
