stuff that needs to be put in case
Redeyez
the project is still in progress so the computer is not in a case. You can
see it in one of the fist pics on this thread it is just in a cardbord box for
testing. Using a AC ATX power supply for in house set up and tuning.
Infront of me right now is my plexi which i will build a custom case for.
I am just trying to decide if i want to use my geforce video card or not.
It will make the profile of my case much bigger.
placement: there is actually alot of space in here i just need to adjust everything, baby food compared to the dash
Step 5: lots and lots of sanding
1. No real problem here either just alot of time sanding. I tried to
use as little regular bondo as possable for strenght reasons. I mainly
used it fill holes and divits and whatnot.
Ok here is where I ran into my first stumbiling blocks. In order to drop my radio and climate control I had do modify the center consol part that went around the stick shift.
I had to cut the piece around the stick shift and drop it down at an angle.
My first attempt failed as the fiberglass bondo would not adhear to the plastic well.
So I then fiberglassed over the whole top of the piece seeing that fiberglass was havin problems also adhering to the plastic.
The first and second pic of are the failed bondo.
Alright now at this point i am feelin like i am makin some solid progress. This probably about two weeks into the project. I sanded about 6-8 hours a day
to get it to this point.
Ok some pics of the screen box. now the pivot on the inside box is not centered as you can see and that is for a reason. When the screen is rotated
away the front bezel sits flush with the dash.
When the screen is showing the inside box with screen is actually out about an inch and half, this way I can tilt my screen towards the driver to eliminate glare or what not with out losing some of the screen inside the box.
Sounds confusing but if you look at the first page of this post there is a pic of the screen rotated towards the driver...maybe it will give you a better understanding.
here is a good pic of what I am talkin about in regards to the screen pivot.
Um I am just wonderin if anybody is in interested in this or not. Maybe I should have labled the thread "Installed motorized indash xenarc"....
I know that would have got some hits, but somewhat false advertisement.
maybe this sub-forum isnt real known that well. Anyways any comments are apreciated...thanks
