Today I started a raised floor for the back of my blazer. My idea was to have a sheet of ply wood raised about 3 1/2 inches from the blazer's floor. I would mold my subs into the floor too and have a plexi glass cover to show off the amp.

just remember to brace the plywood if you ever plan on carrying anything in the back.
Haha yeah, just did up some of the braces, got some updated pics at my cardomain site now. Still more coming, I'm in the middle of uploading them now so be patient since I'm only on dial up.

Those raised floors seem like a great solution for SUVs. How many fans are you going to have to mount though to minimize heat?
Probly won't have any fans, there will be room for air flow under there. It wont be sealed or anything just have some support braces. When I add my car PC if I decide to put it under the floor too then I may add some fans, but for now just the one amp shouldn't be too bad. I doubt the amp will get any hotter then when i have my back filled with crap. I've pilled clothes and crap over top of my amp before for a couple days with nothing really going wrong. But we will have to see how it works out. But maybe I should ask the someone who has done something similar. Anyone running fake floor with just the amp/s under it have any issues with heat?
No extra cooling fans and no problems with heat so far, I left the cover off the computer though.
Awsome, so i should be fine with just an Amp under my floor for now. And props also on the nice install, great work!, something of what im looking for.
have you found a good way of making the design for the raised floor, im soon going to make one, but i wanted to hear from some people that have made them on how they made the deisgn to cut the wood into

I found just some cardboard put it in the back and start cutting and forming was the easy enough for me. Im sure you could work with multiple peices and just tape'em together. I was lucky enough to find a peice lying around that was big enough that I really only needed 1 peice for the template. but after i had the shape for the back i just tapped the template onto some plywood, traced and cut it out. now im making some supports for it so i can load stuff in the back and working out something for my subs.Quote:
