works fine for what I got it for, to do 800x480 since it's so much clearer of a picture than 800x600 or 848x480, aside from that there's no real difference from the onboard video, at least for what I do on it.

I bought the panel for the factory navigation system and modified it to how it is now, here's what the factory nav panel looks like, it moves the climate control unit down to the bottom and eliminates the little storage area.

where did you purchase the nav bezel, and for how much?

I bought it from www.wyckoffmopar.com for I think it was like $79, however I wouldn't recomend there anymore as they jacked their prices way up and want $250 for it now, though they will sell it to you for $50 if you buy the $2000 factory nav with it, how nice of them.

Guess i'll post a little update while i'm posting, here's a new shot of the dash, it's now 1 solid panel instead of two seperate panels, the DVD drive is no longer in the dash and the computer is no longer in the center console, I built a box for all the computer components and it's hanging under the dash on the passenger side now.

    wow - that's bright!

    one quick question.

We are considering getting a magnum in the future.

I was planning an 8" at least, is not a 10" screen for it though.

Is there a reason you went with only a 7" screen?

do you have any pictures of the dash appart?

does your screen get hot to the touch after a while? mine does...

before i had the screen, the climate control unit used to get hot after a while... and im afraid the temp might have an adverse effect on the 700tsv......

I went with the 7" because height wise I couldn't fit bigger with the headunit and the climate control there, at least not when it was two seperate panels, especialy since all the 8" ones I had seen at the time were 4:3 not 16:9 so they were much taller in comparison, also I didn't like the fact that all the 8" touchscreens I saw at the time were only 640x480 instead of 800x600. I could posibly get a bigger one in there now since I made it one panel though.

Unfortunatly I never took a picture of the dash when everything was apart. the one other posible issue you would have with a larger screen that I can think of off hand is width, there's a lip behind the panel on each side, I think it was about 1/2-3/4" wide lip, though i'm sure nothing a dremel couldn't fit if you really did want to fit a bigger screen in there.

I think when I was planing it I had figured a 10" 4:3 screen would fit if those lips were removed and if I moved either the headunit or the climate control somewhere else.

I haven't had any heat issues with the screen getting hot yet and i've had it installed for about a year now, I have noticed that the climate control unit and the wiper/esp switch cluster does get a little on the warm side, I have a feeling they use bulbs to light up at night, not LED's and that's what causes it.

ok - I guess it's the use of the HU that dictated the screen size for you. this wouldn't be an issue on our end if it happens, no HU wanted.

removing parts that you mentioned would be a given, so....good to know a 10" could fit!

One more minor update to it, I wonder if it will ever be 100% complete, lol.

Added USB jack to the dash to sync my MP3 player, cleaned up the contour between the two panels I joined so it's smooth now, was noticable that it was two panels joined before, cleaned up the opening around the headunit to follow the curved contour of the side of the player, smoothed out the panel just above the headunit so that it doesn't stick out past the headunit a little like it used to, and obvilously changed the color again

Gona have to pull it one more time though to repaint it as there's a little bubbling in the paint all the way at the bottom (bairly noticable in the pictures) and to clean up a few pin holes in the bondo I couldn't see till after I painted it.
