Last summer I bought this car and the factory Sony 10 CD changer was broken since day 1. When carputer time came around I knew it was time to gut it out for an enclosureI did this because I can mount it up right to the original location and cover it with the carpet-matched thingy.
I am in the process of mounting the hardware. I am using 3M industrial strength velcro. I mounted the slim CDRW/DVD to the top so when you open the door, BAMN! There it is. I'm also mounting the 2.5" hdd up there too.
I didn't mount the motherboard yet, I need to cut a piece of wood or plastic that I can mount the standoffs on to. That way I won't be velcro'ing the motherboard itself! I'm probably going to do this for the Opus 90w too because there's a chance it may be upgraded in the future so I want it to be removable.
I was wondering if anyone thought anything is too close together? Is it okay to have the PSU close to the hdd, cdrw, motherboard, whatever?
Anyway.. on to the pics...
I also have a USB 2.0 hub coming, as well as all the 15' cabling for the front of the car. I have not yet bought: radioSHARK, ProScan OBD-II, Amp/Speakers
