Like your trunk. The pic blinded me for a few milliseconds![]()
hey i just noticed u have the same subs i just i just bought. How do they sound in and out of the car?
There ok, I would rate there sound quality at 75-80 out of 100
and thats with a low end amp, cheap head unit
In the right box there really good, but a smaller speaker like a 10in may sound louder
at the same power, because it takes less power to move, and more of the sound is
in the normal hearing range, I get more vibration than sound sometimes with the
speakers I have
I had to remove some of the foam and sound damping from behind the back seat
it was soaking up a lot of sound
Even with all the mods to get the sound out of the trunk, the trunk seams to steal
about 30% to 40% or more, of your sound -- same setup in a VAN was almost
twice as loud
Also I have added a crap load of undercoating and rubber paint to keep the sound in the
car, so its not very loud outside the car, inside its a different story
Next time I might go with a 10in and a 12in in place of two 12in
I just used MS Paint, and NotePad to edit the default skin, that
skin works fine in Mediacar, But has problems in RoadRunner
Here is my Windows XP Boot screen
Here is the Logo
And another
As far as editing the skins I think the info is in the forums and
Its been to long and I have no idea how to edit the other files
that go with the skin any more, you will have to do some
searching
Good luck
Update - New Parts!!!!
I just got me an m4-atx, and a 10in touch screen from a cop car,
and I am trying to get it all installed this week end, I also got a
another computer, the motherboard is a Asus A7N266-VM, cpu is a
Athlon XP Thoroughbred 1800+ (51.0 W) - just hope its not overkill
- but its what I had on hand
I was going to replace the head unit and just use the computer, and
the motherboard supports 6 channel sound, and it works well, but I need
another amp, I have one hooked to my subs, and an old 2 channel
pioneer 100w just laying around, but I would need 3 amps, one for subs,
one for the front, and one for the back, I might try it later, but I am
broke now
On a side note, I got a "Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Deluxe" working with
Radiator and Road Runner/Ride Runner, took for ever to get it working, It
would not let me change presets, then I found that you have to disable
the scrolling text in Radiator , the bt848/878 plugin works just
fine on it, I also had a "Leadtek WinFast TV2000 XP Expert" but it uses a
different chip and wont work
Oh and that Media Car skin I modified works just fine now, I will post it
later,![]()
The last time I did this, I remember it only taking 2 to 3 days, I started
Friday removing things, spent Saturday getting parts and installing
software on the computer, today I looked for more parts, finished making
the parts for my LCD mount, and finished the box for the M4-ATX
I used a old ATX power supply case, the standoffs would not fit the
M4-ATX so I removed them, drilled holes and used bolts and nuts, I
used 3 nuts on each bolt to hold it up of the case bottom, I used a
nibber to cut out the holes I needed, the fan is hooked up to J3,
J3 is listed as "(J3) Fan Header" and I cant find any more info on it,
so I am going to try using with the fan that was in the case.

I took the computer out to the car and hooked the power up,
like this![]()
I just did this as a test, and it works fine
I dont want to leave it this way, because I would like to use the
computer when the radio is not on, and plan on using a switch in my dash,
like over in this post M2-atx Override Switch I made up my own setup with a
relay so my LCD would only get power when the computer is on, here is
what I am thinking
Oh yea, here is my computer

Did some more today, ran the wires in the dash and put a switch in the
ashtray like this
and this is what it looks like installed
Simple and easy
I still need to run wires for the LCD, and USB hub and install the LCD
mount, I am going to make something like this,Laptop Mount and this
Building a Laptop Mount and In-car Laptop Mount but just for my LCD,
I hope to have it near finished tomorrow
