Yep, have you seen any other TA's or firebirds with similar screens?

Nope. Nothing that really looks as good as Snootch's.

I prefer yours because it is more in line with what I plan to do.

How is the visabilty with the screen mounted at that angle?
    Any glare problems?
I have T-tops, think I'll need to add a hood or anything?
I think the TA has the radio area angled slightly towards the driver, does that screen look good from the passengers side also?

i've got a similar setup in my camaro, but my screen is not hardmounted yet. I'm not sure if i want to for theft reasons but when i just set it in front of the HVAC controls the glare can be pretty bad even w/ the t-tops and tinted windows rolled up. I'm thinking i'm going to end up mounting it on an adjustable swing arm or osmething, not fully sure though, right now i'm broke as a joke so i've got a little while to plan and save for a full stereo system overhaul.

Wouldn't molding it in be a good way to PREVENT theft? When it's off it should look like some blank delete panel or something.
I always thought the monitor on a stalk was a dead give away that it wants to be stolen.

As far as glare, I usually drive at night, so it shouldn't be a problem most of the time. I think I'm still going to get the 7" lilliput.

Hey Snootch, hows the glare on your larger monitor? Does the hood help at all?

Here's a nice one similar to Snootchs from a member named Firebird.

ya at night its beautiful. Also, if you guys are running road runner, there are a few add on programs that control the gamma correction depending on the time of day, making it brighter in the day and darker at night, kinda cool. My thinking was the have it removable like a faceplate from the stalk.

Mine has hardware dimming, so the blacks look blacker at night. The angle is better for the driver, but still very readable by the passenger. Sometimes they have to lean in just a little, but I don't mind that. The biggest problem I have is if she's wearing white and the sun is shining from the front or the T-tops. The reflection makes it impossible to see anything. The hood wouldn't help there, but it's not going to happen as often as direct sunlight. Also, I have tint and T-top shades. I think the dark leather seats help a lot when you don't have a passenger too - after thinking about the white shirt reflection.

Here is a possible idea for those wanting to run a 8" or 10". Make a pod to hold the A/C controls above the air vents. Kind of like the pods that hold guages. I could get an extra dash pad and have the pod overlap the vents some. Then cut out the vents that the pods covers to allow the cables and wires to go into the dash area. The whole pod could be attached to a flat metal mount that screws down under the dash pad so that the nice dash area above the vent won't be damaged in any way.
I've also checked and this location does not obstruct the view at all.
If any of you guys had not already bought your screen or relocated the controls to the glovebox and were starting out from scratch, like me, does this seem like it would work?
