Yeah the sides will be covered in the same colored gray carpet. I dont know how I'm gonna cover the front though. I still gotta cut some more holes for the cd-rom/dvd and USB ports.

Really nice ideea! What are you going to do next? Fill the console with body filler, including the screen, and paint it, or, are you going the easier way, covering it with vynil, or something? Never the less, I think it will look fantastic.

Nah, Im taking the easy way. Id like to be able to take out the entire unit in case I sell my car or something. I dont want to mess with the oem dash or carpet or anything that could lower the value of the car (like cutting holes in the dash or bondoing stuff to it).

hey cool, another phoenix person. I hear ya about cutting into the dash....it's quite scary, but if you are strategic enough, you can buy replacement parts in the future to put it back to stock! Lol. Keep us updated on the work.

Looks good so far. Thnk about making a "cover" panel for the fron and cover it in Black vinyl with the carpeted sides I think it would transition well down from your head unit.

You've done what I have been dreaming about for my suburban. I have a center console, it just does not go all the way to the dash and I'm having problems "linking' the console and dash together. Your project has given me some thoughts though. Keep up the great work.
