As you can see I can't part from my radio for the moment. The stupid thing is that everything is run through the cassette deck so I need it wired. However I don't need it in sight because it is never on.
I've been looking for an easy way to get some better sound. As you will see from the pc pics I have a transmitter for the moment. But it sucks so I want an amp but still need my radio. I signed up for beta testing of changing the CD changer into a USB port AND an audio in! If that works I'm home free, but if somebody has another option I am very interested!
Fast reply btw!
GPS is underneeth the grill, it's hard to see as it should be!![]()
You can see the transmitter and the Soundblaster in one of the pictures. So I still need to do that.
I'm planning to attach the computer to the roof of the trunk. Lots of space there and nice precut holes to do something.
I also need to buy and wire a second PSU for my screen. I don't have the CD/DVD drive connected for the moment so that I can run my screen, but I want to run it all so.
Oh btw, current system:
- EPIA MII10000, CD/DVD combo, 512MB, 80gig HDD, 270 HOLUX CF GPS with antenna
- standard case, but I like it because it hides everything in the front nicely
- USB wireless dongle
I'm also running a nextbase DVD player which is hooked up in the back. I can put a DVD in there and show it on my screen(AV input 1) or I can show my screen on the nextbase. Sound is run through the line in(still some glitches with that though).
I also ran a few extra wires to the front. I already attached an AV cable to the back. So the only thing i need is a camera so that I have a back up camera.
I'm pretty happy with everything so far, allthough I expected a little more quality from the screen itself, but hey you can't have it all I guess.
Suggestions are appreciated.
Any remarks/suggestions/...???![]()
Hows the GPS signal where it is? Also, have you thought of finding a way to mount that comp to the roof of the trunk (not the actual trunk tho)? Or running the wires under the carpet? Good work on the install tho, I like it.
Thanks it took me long enough to get there.
Well I was think to mount a wooden board to the roof with a drawer like construction(should be sturdy though). The board would give me room for an amp and all the other things I want.
The GPS, I still need to get the right software so I haven't had any signal yet. Aren't there little programs to see if you have some reception?
there is a neat little program by Tyco that should work. http://www.tycoelectronics.com/gps/software.aspOriginally Posted by SAPiens
