2005 Pontiac GTO - wake's Carputer Attempt

Somewhat OT, but do you know what your Horsepower and engine size are, just curious to see how it compares to the 66' GTO...

6.0L V8, 400hp (At the engine, of course. People are reporting anywhere from 310-330 or so at the wheels after dyno runs.) They up'd the engine from the '04, which is 3.8L V8 @ 350hp.

5.7L actually but yes, mine is 350/365. I havent gone to the dealer yet to ask about the console piece but I have ordered other parts from them. I bought a new copy of the top of the console, the black piece shaped like a dome above the ac controls. I am fabbing a gauge pod into it. That piece was only like $28 so I dont think the other piece will be too bad.

Cool, I have seen a lot of gauge pods up there, they look good.

I don't think you could have any problem with police as long as you don't watch any movies there... but I don't know how it's where you live. Here we can do anything except videos

I have updated my lists in the first post. I have ordered the basics for the PC itself, including the case, motherboard, processor, etc. I also decided on the LinITX 7" Touch Screen. I will be setting up the PC in the house for testing purposes, while still thinking about implementation issues when I take it from the house to the car.

Some speakers and amps should be here Monday or Tuesday, and I get the car back Monday at lunch time (had a moonroof put in.) I will then be able to do some trunk measuring to start prototyping an Amp Rack. I will post pictures of the new moonroof.

also a little OT but if you're looking into the most "bang for your buck", get a remote mount turbo! http://www.ststurbo.com/gto_dyno as you can see 40%hp/50%tq for 4500 isn't bad! and none of this will void factory warranty... just put your old exhaust back on, the whole site has awesome information

also for fun watch this... stock 5.7GTO with STS @ 4psi

Well I ordered the dash piece where I want to put my touchscreen yesterday. It is the piece that includes the silver trim and the black piece that covers the ac vents and controls. It was $134.
