Thread: Mazda RX7 Series I

This is going to be quite a nice project, split into 3 parts.

1. A rebuild of the front nosecone (after a bit of sideways action) and getting the car licensed again.
2. Getting the car PC working again after the above mentioned accident, me thinks its to do with the on/off power switch.
3. Doing some mods to MediaEngine, so that some interesting things can be done, which isn't currently supported.

1. Front Nosecone reconstruction.

The repaired nosecone will have some goodies added such as a computer controlled air flap inside the airdam itself. This will aid in greater or lesser cooling depending on weather conditions. For race applications, this will aid in the creation of greater downforce at the front.

Other work will include having the power windows and alarm reworked so it can be controlled via a computer programme, this part of the project will involve re-wiring so that it can be addapted for USB support.

2. PC repair.

This is the simple part, replacing the on/off switch, and adding a 4 port USB hub. The current engine management computer (ECU) will also be connected to a USB port because the serial port isn't working which means the EFI software can't be tuned or viewed.

3. ME mods.

The most interesting bit.
1.The first part is adding some plugins such as a new power windows control (voice opperated).
2. An alarm system plugin also voice operated, and disarmed either with a pin code or finger print.
3. The front and rear spoiler angle control (touchscreen).
4. A new engine management programme to replace the current one. The new software only works when the car PC is booted and the security deactivated. PC boots up when you use the remote keyless entry.
5. Having the GPS and phone linked up to a voice opperated panic function (if this is possible)
